TFM mp3 files

.mp3 is an audio format (like .wav) where a sound file can be compressed to the ratio of 1 MB per minute of CD-quailty sound. ( imagine, CD- quality instead of realaudio crap ! ).

There is already a good hindi mp3 site at
http://home.attt.net/~Teekster/

Does anyone know where I may be able to get tamil mp3 files from the net ?

  The site address http://home.att.net/~Teekster/ given by Sanjay, claiming to be a site for Hindi songs in MP3, is INCORRECT.
  
  I have checked the site and there are NO Hindi songs, let alone any in MP3 format!!

  A suggestion:
  
  Most Webmasters are nowadays searching and deleting MP3 files on their servers, due to increasing threats from big-time music companies. A tip for anyone who wants to 'keep' MP3 files on the site is to rename and upload them as ZIP files and the users can rename them back to MP3 after downloading.
  
  MP3 is a great format for:
  * previewing songs at near-CD quality before deciding to purchase an album. Remember that no compressed format can give you the dynamism and harmonic quality of a CD recording.
  * sending a song to someone via e-mail or other electronic means.
  * storing as many as 150+ songs on a single recordable CD so that you can play them on your computer without juggling CDs.

  I plan to associate myself with somebody who can provide GBs of free space and ready to host tamil/mallu mp3s. What I intend to do is make mp3s and ftp them to the site donor. I intend that he/she may host them on the net. My sole intention is to get the DFers / tfm fans good quality audio files over the net for a better appreciaton of the music.

  www.ulaavi.com (will get some good old illayaraja songs in MP3!!!!)
