an attempt to dig out some golden oldies with the help of the many seasoned campaigners in TFM.Iam interested in doing a collection of songs that are strictly confined to this period which I consider as the renaissanceage of music

  Today, I bought a surprise Kannada RPG old release. It has GEETA, JANMA, JANMADA ANUBANDHA and AJEYA all IR Kannada films. You will be surprised by the mellow version of Vizhiyile Mani Vizhiyile (100vdhu naal) in GEETHA and it is called Jotheyali.

  There's a great duet of SPB and SJ composed by IR that went unnoticed in Tamil (I think it was from 'Komberi Mookkan' or some such name) which was reused as a solo (by S.Janaki) in ManiRatnam's Malayalam film Unaru. It was a hit number there..The song in Tamil is: 'Roja Ondru Mutham Ketkum Neram'.

  NO. Indru Poi Naalai Vaa is very much IR.
  
  And that "Barla" song is from a Kamal movie not the one that has been mentioned. The same movie had a fantastic fast paced number by SPB goes something like "Endrum pola Indrum Pudumai...some Ilamai...some Inimai..."sorry don't recollect it just now. I used to love hearing that in my walkman and was amazed how close it was to a Western song in terms of recording quality and arrangements of the music ! Wonder how that got missed. Yesssss...the film is "Ellam Inba Mazham".

Very captivating prelude and second interlude. SPB comes out like a rock singer in this. I think the movie had one more song. Mamma Voodu Macchi Voodu sparisam potathu kuchupudu or something, Very funny ande enjoyable number

  Raj Fan...Bang on target !!!Thats the song. And yeah, the "Mamavoodu" is such a drastic "change of scene" for "Ra ra veena" !! My grandmother used split into laughter whenever I sang the IR version. Makes me wonder - IR really must have great sense of humour.
