  VS is better compared to HJ....
  
  but u cant say he is the best...
  
  he copies ARRs instrumentals for rerecording for eg(the table beats in RUN - copied from rangeela)
  
  SO, i feel YSR is far better and he is the best now!!
  
  The song which i personally like of VS is from Thavasi(Thanthana Thantana Thei masam- KJ and Sadhana beautiful Duet)

  "aasai aasai " resembles SARajkumar's "pullaanguzhalin ottai parthen otrai naanayam" song too. VS has got very few original tunes like "Malare mounama" to his credit.

  to correct,
  Thulluvodoo elamai is super hit in tamil and songs are very good. He was initially introduced in tamil by name sangita rajan and later went to malayalam and gave super hits. He is number 1 in malalyalam movies. Now he has started giving hits in tamil and he is better than ARR/harris jayaraj.

  YSR is better then VS....VS is good in spurts but i feel he copies.

  Vidhyasagar is cool eh... He' been in my good list ever since I heard his "Hello Chellamma" from Karna.
  
  His soft songs usually have very beautiful music... and usually the flute music he interjects always makes me wanna cry, in a good way that is.. its very... Elevating

  I would say, Vidya sagar is the next best MD after IR, when it comes to melody, no doubt, who can forget 'Malare Mounama' by SPB+SJ from 'Karna'.

  I Think the only music director who can give good melody after IT is VS, his recent song "kadhal vandhal " from iyarkai and all the songs from "parthban kanavu" proves that . HJ and YR flick western song, the Simarik song by takaran was copied by YSR in one of mamooty's movie and none of the other directors can give you folk song better than VS think abt "vaadi vaadi naatukatai" from alli thandha vaanam , "vaadi machinichi" from parthiban Kanavu etc HJ hasnt composed any folk songs at all, his only so called folk song "kalyanam dhan" from saamy has lots of western touch . there is no way you can compare VS with harris jeyaraj or Yuvan . and i dont c ARR composing any good song in near future, he is busy fulfilling his mumbai dreams . the only music director who can give us IR Kinda of music is VS. there is no music director who can take the place of IR by the way

  i really dunno wht to say this? VS is a big copy cat ..he is successful just bcoz he had a good team.... IN EVERY MOVIE U CAN SEE VS take a song from bangra he starts tht with jaihind and still he continue doing tht.. if u say the list of music he lifted then u gotto say almost 90% of the songs rendered by him comes under tht category... hez a pure commercial music director...?fit for masala films like dhool ,jhoot ..gille and goes on ... i really dunno wht u guys mean by melody .. do u calla song if it goes in slow pace as melody.. icant thk any1 after IR to give melody . may be yuvan had attemped some example mun paniaa in nandhaa
  even karthik raja too come up with some good numbers.. but as of now yuvan is considered to be best when compared to VS . though he lifts music from west he present it in his own style..
  whn compared to experience he is a kid amoung others iam sure he will topple others whn he get a good crew and directors.. iam sure he never gave any dissapoint ment whn he had such crew.. tht's how we got movies like nandhaa, mounam pesiyadhe , poovellam ketupaar,thullvado illamyee, kadal kondein, and recently peralagan ... may be song looks odd with the music album but it impresess whn u see the movie.. the bgms are good too. i thk after ARR.   VS does NOT copy IR at all, it is very absurd to say like that, infact, after the mid nineties till now, VS is the ONLY MD, who does justice to melody after IR & ARR (Some songs!).
  
  VS is carnatic composer, he knows his raagas very well,like IR, hence u find Similarities between IR's melodies & VS melodies.
  
  IR is the KING when it comes to melody, while VS is like a MODERN PRINCE ;)

  VS just used the similar arrangement like IR when we worked with SAR in late 80's. eg: Chinna poove mella pesu (title) , Oh penmanguil... , etc.
  
  Even his first tamil film " Nila penne" had very strong influences of IR. You can understand when you listen to Chitra's solo, which is pucca replica of IR's style. Even when he scores for telugu films , he still follows IR
  
  VS is only blending the IR & ARR 's style.

  Vidhyasagar has done a great job in composing an album pure classical songs and melodies in telugu for a movie "Swara abishekam" directed by K.Vishwanath who directed movies like Salanagai Oli, Sankarabharanam, Sippikkul muthu etc.,
