  YOu are spot-on. I also could not digest, how he mentioned dilwale se duniya layenga as original. I been reading his articles in screen for a long time, he has not come up any thing criticall on bollywood MDS. I been thinking of writing to him, if there is a email address, asking to do the same post-mortem on RD burman. I mean, all the people always said how great he is, and to me, he could end up as the most copy-cat ( complete copy, not just a note here and there), if he has guts to do the research. But overall, there are some points in the article, I agree with. This has been the case for bollywood. To me, if SAR/sirpi come and talk thrash about ARR and IR, could we digest?. I mean what made nadeem qualified to comment on ARR and shamelessly being carried over by all this journolists, as if he is a such a great person in terms of music talent. Though I learnt to be not that sensitive about this, what I used to be, still there are lot of bias in writing there.

  G, say last 25 years:))) Ever since LP replaced RDB as the commercial leaders in the market,HFM has known only direction, DOWN. There have been some sprinkling of hummable numbers here and there. For a change, some RDB numbers that have been influenced or 'influenced' by Tamil numbers.
  Yaad aa rahi hai (Love Story) is very similar to 'Yaar antha nilavu'
  Chingari Koi (Amar Prem) though a good song, is very heavily influenced by MSV's Thaalaattu paadi thaayaga vENdum (Praptham). The orchestration, the melody line ....everything.
  Srikanth says that the BGM for 'Ayiraththil Oruvan' was generously 'put to use' by RDB in Shaan.
  kaN padumE pirai kaN padumE (kaththiruntha kaNgaL) (MSV-TKR) had its rebirth of sorts in 'Sasural' (Shankar-Jaikishan) as 'Teri pyaari pyaari soorath kO kisi ki nazar na lagE...'

  Aren't you going a little over-board in separating DEVA from the other craps. Deva just follows these HFM MDs style (cut & paste work), the only difference is that his machine has a better juke box (international collection). In fact SAR will give all these JLs & other no-namers a run for the money as he does that job much better. In fact he has stormed the Telugu FM with his talent and soon you would see him cutting/pasting Music for a Padmalaya/Suresh Productions of a Hindi Film.
  
  I never understand why these Hindi folks rave about all these copy-cats who lack originality/talent and I wonder even Musical training??? The other day I saw a 50s English film and many songs resembled closely to SJ's JUNGLEE/JANWAR and other movie songs. I wonder there was originality even before LaxmiPyare days. (Salia/SDB/Naushad were few exceptions)
  
  On the otherhand seeing how these weaklings of TFM rave about Deva/SAR music, I am not surprised there will be similar dumb souls across the Vindhiyas raving about their pathetic music.

  Rahman is currently on a world trip...he is out there to get inspired...so when he is back u can expect quality albums(hope no ones sues him)from him...

  Next album is Tenali - expected to release by 3rd week of July as movie is planned for Aug-15 I-Day release
  Since it is Kamal movie and it involves Srilankan tamil character for him, there is likely that one or two songs are in srilankan tunes - pop type or tunes similar to sinhala songs.
  
  ARR would have watched Roopavaahini music tunes several times to do this ;-))
  Since Abdul Hameed is also acting in the movie, he would have given all the source for Srilankan tamil tunes to ARR
  May be Ceylon Manohar might have sung a song

  News for some people: Tunes for the songs in Tenali are from a earlier ARR Hindi movie. So don't expect anything new.
  Nothing sells like the ARR name and I guess that Tenali producers are cashing in on this.
  If you cannot get the banana, even the skin would do, I suppose. :-)

  After KK2 I waiting to buy A R Rahman new album, anybody know when I could get and what is the name of film.
  
  My agree that ARR only albums are worth to buy for money.
  
  I like his style of music and all hits in every album.

  Tenali (tamil - *ing Kamal Hassan and Jyotika)might have a song or two based on baila rythms, very typical of ceylon. Dont worry it will not be copied as some anti ARR fans have been claiming. Tenali will also feature a few numbers from Rahman's Thakshak.
  
  Most probably, the next ARR release would be Shyam Benegal's Zubeida, which is complete. Also on the cards soon are Aamir Khan's Lagaan and Shah Rukh's One two ka Four.

  I heard that zubeida songs are from Rahman's earlier days movie "May madham".
  Jodi (tamil) got all songs from "Doli sajake rakhna".
  Pukar got a song from "En swasa kaatre".
  Even Alaipayuthey got "Mangalyam thanthunane" just taken from the opening music of Vandematharam. (And ARR fans claim that it is "ARR version of mangalyam thanthunane" ;o)
  Now its "Tenali" featuring some stuff from Thakshak.
  In future One two ka four will have kandukondain tunes and Lagaan will have Uzhavan tunes :)
  And lot of ARR earlier days music to follow in future ARR movies. People can listen to ARR songs in all indian languages (In different movies ofcourse :o).

  Cmon people grow up.Just bcos you don't like some music director does not mean you can speak trash about him here.Everybody has the right to have his/her opinion but that does not give them the rights to make some wild comments.Let us maintain the dignity of this forum.

  wherever i go i find, comments against ARR, i dont understand, guys pl try to understand the supremacy of ARR in indian film industry , for IR is losing ground to even in tamil film industry,if ARR has been copying and recycling, i dont find any point for "andrew webber lloyd " calling him to work with him, try to appreciate things, dont stick on to same point , try to understand reality
