Friend I am afraid this is also wrong
Ninnai Charanadaindhaen does resembles more of Hamsanandhi or Sunadhavinodhini, this song sound similar to a song in Dalapathi called as 'Puthum puthu Poo' though not shown in the movie but was in the casette. Hamsanandhi has no resemblance of Panthuvaraali or Poorvikalyani, incidentaly Panthuvaraali and Poorvikalyani sound very much similar if I am right except for a variation in the Nishadham.
In the movie Bharathy there is a nice no based on PoorviKalyani called 'Ethilum Ingu' sung by Madhu Balakrishnan.
Best example of panthuvarali is from MSV's Eyezhu swarangalil ethanai padal' from the movie Apoorva Ragangal or recent ARRs 'Hai Rama' from Rangeela.
There is also a nice song by IR from the movie Oruvar Vazhagum Alayam i forgot the song name though. There is also beautiful Jazz fusion on Pathuvarali by IR in his album 'How to Name it' where the Trumpet goes on solo and then joined by scntillating Bass and Drums
Hope no more confusion on this

Guys
IR had a meeting with the Chettiar Association in Md on Sunday and from his talk, looks like he is frustrated with tamil industry for not giving him the due recognition. Also he was talking more about classical stuff etc etc.
This is what I heard form my friend. I will write about everything, after I meet him on thursday.

Hello Rajaveriyan
If you meet Mr. Raja please tell him that he has a great and sincere following here in US.
Questions I would like to ask
1)Why dont IR atleast release Symphony in Europe and US instead of India.
2)Why not have a album done in collobration with good jazz artist or people like Sting or Peter Gabriel.
3)Also how about a nice concert in NY Carnigei :)
thanks

friends and fellow rajaveriyans
just back from watching bharathi......vaarthai vara maattenguthu, because of the music. what a BGM, and to watch the songs on screen...simply awesome. and contrary to what many people think, the hall was packed, and this for a weekday noon show. when IR sang ninnaich charanadainthen, everyone burst into applause. mey silirththuvittadhu. and when the movie was over, or at least when we thought it was, "nallathor veenai seithen" came on. everyone who was readying to go just stood, listened, and speechlessly walked out. am yet to recover from the impact of IR's music. rajave saranam!!!!
pinkurippu: the movie is a commendable attempt, a breath of fresh air in our kunduchchatti film world. great performances by shinde and devayani.

After all this brouhaha about IR's visit to DC, why is there not a confirmation on this fact by RAAJANGAHM, the official website of IR?
At least a negation or a confirmation of the fact from Raajangahm would help everyone at this forum.
Thanks!

Folks,
While on the BGM CD topic, I went and saw Hey! Ram.....again, at the Toronto International Film Festival, on Saturday the 16th.
I have watched the movie in a 'Tamil' theatre twice before, but only now was I able to fully enjoy the BGM. The THX sound in the theatre was amazing. There were scenes when I just closed my eyes, and listened to the music.
I was hoping to meet Kamal there and ask him about the BGM of Hey! Ram. The silly fellow did not show up at the screening, even though he was in Toronto for the festival.
But, I managed to get his e-mail from the festival organizers. It goes:
superape@eth.net
Can someone e-mail him and ask him what he is waiting for? Tell him we want to listen to the music ASAP! :-)
I e-mailed him. But, no reply yet.

koothan,
The film was a flop, if it would have been a hit, then Kamal might be thinking of releasing it. My thinking is that he should have released the album with the film release itself. It's too late now and I don't think it will ever come out as an album. So pick up DVD at your local store and copy it yourself and enjoy it. That's the only solution.
