Your arguments don't hold water, and IMO, never have where this issue is concerned. You are unable to present a convincing argument and end up blaming my "lack" of politeness as the reason :-))) Sathiyama, enakku sirippu thaan varudhu !!! :-))))

Chandy,
The "lift" that you are referring to in the 'en purushan dhaan' song is something like this (this will hold good for all the so-called lifts of Raja) - Raja's inspirations (I don't want to term them lifts) are equivalent to Kannadasan's words "Paravayai kandaan vimaanam padaithaan". The 2 lines you are referring to may be analogues to the two wings of the bird and the airplane. Now, will you call it a lift or an inspiration? IMO, all the songs listed here as Raja's lifts are inspirations.

SM --- This inspiration talk has already been completed with Madhan etc, why dont you guys agree with the fact, why always crib.
The song pudhu chei katcheri is inspired from Bach's sleepers walk --- I can prove it note by note / chord by chord. Wanna a challange.
Like others Raja's lifts, there it ends.
his lifts are ignorable as he done more orginal compositions.
This thread is list of Raja's copied song, please let others talk and let them list out the copied songs. Please stop this denying act.

Srikanth: Do you mean "Sleepers Wake"? There might be some mistake in my recollection but I don't think puthu cheri katcheri is copied from Sleepers Wake.

Yes Raja was Inspired! from Sleepers Wake...
Try hearing it again --- especially

Srikanth,
> his lifts are ignorable as he done more orginal
> compositions.
Is it ignorable just because he has done more original compositions? You yourself told that Raja gets inspired by Bach at times and so such songs are mere coincidences. In that case, we can't term them as 'lifts' or 'copies', can we? This was what I wanted to know. Otherwise, I agree to what you say. I will stop here as you said.

Hi SM,
"Paravaiyai kandaan vimaanam padaithaan"!!. But aeroplane engine-a engirundo lift pannitu, adhuku wings, seat-ellam vechu, "this is my plane, my own-plane-nu" sonna?? If the adopted/adapted part forms the heart of someone's number, it implies that the MD relied on someone's work other than his own to ensure the song's success. Call it an inspiration or lift or copy whatever, but the fact is that the MD relied on someone else rather than his own originality. Isnt that so??

Mr. Srikanth.
The starting of "paachai kiligal" from INDIAN is in turn an inspiration of Kaiveenai Kalaivani.

Hi Raj & Srinath and others (including our Kuzapam) and middle men like Chandy.
As a musician I am writing this,
If Raja flicks or not-- I do not care,
When I compose a beat to a song or a string section score -- My little brain automatically thinks HOW IR would do the it - make me work to match his stds, I am amazed by the IR's influence on me without my knowledge.
Similary Raja who knows in and out of bach, is bound to be influenced by Bach or other WC composers --- without He knowing that he is being influenced.
So Lets us do not care much about raja coping etc .... I would request Ravi to close this negative thread -- just to save the respect of this great composer.

Clarify:
As a personal request, please spare Srikanth :-) I admire his "on now, off again" posts as they reveal much more information than most other people in the forum. Purely for the sake of the genuine info that he provides us with, I can happily tolerate his mood swings :-) Would you rather have someone dissing IR ALL the while ? :-)))
Srikanth:
I hope you don't get incensed by Clarify's post and lose your cool. Believe me you have lost it more than I have, so it is your turn to laugh at it off as one of your idiosyncrasies :-)

If you wish people to take your statements more seriously, you must consider revealing more of your knowledge about IR's music. People like myself and Raj can only this far in giving Raja (no ! that's not you rajaG :-)) his due respect. Clarify has a very valid point highlighting your contradictory posts. If you feel justice must be delivered, just imagine how much more you have to speak about Raja to balance all the criticizing that you have done. All your statements about IR may be true and all your statements about ARR may also be true. But how much will they be appreciated if you do not give both sides of both pictures ? You owe Raja big time now ! :-))

Two more :
* thendRalidai thOraNangaL - a bit song from EVK - has a guitar interlude straight out of Hotel California by Eagles
* Oh butterfly - meera - the melody is original but much of the harmony is inspired by Rimsky Korsakov's Flight of the Bumblebee.

Nowadays(in US) burger king ads feature a song which reminds me of an old tamil song(I guess by Jayachandran and Vani Jayaram) which goes like this:
Devi koondhalo un gnabagam..
kalloorum pookkal yaavume en seedhanam
sangeetha...
en aadharam neeye..
I dont remember the lyrics exactly..Do anyone recollect the tamil song, MD singers etc and also the english song played by burger king? I thought the MD shud be IR or Shankar Ganesh.

This song is by SG and the original song is from a 1970s group.
Ramki can provide details of the Tamil song.

i guess that the song was from the movie krodham starring prem and rani padmini. this was discussed earlier in another thread.MD is probably SG. i have seen the english original on TV, an old rock and roll group, but cannot remember the group.

Ramki,
En aasai unnodu than, if my memory is right ( though not good as you), featured the Tv actress,
devilatha ( something like that). I remember thaianban ( with a black kerchief tied to his head all the time) making debut in this movie. I always thought this song was good for a newcomer.
Can u verify this info for me?.
