IR's new albums!

  I heard it, some parts sounded more like guitar to be, I guess real network program converts "veena to guitar"...,
  I am trying find and hear all the songs from some good digital source.
  
  I asked for this tape in the local shop here
  and I was offered "ayoo patikichey patikichey", what do to?...I bought it.
  
  I wish Raja finds someone to sell it well or atleast let others to distribute his songs, we have tons of webmasters who will do it in about 10mins. :)
  Until then it is "ayoo patikichy patikichy" only.

  as fan had mentioned, the 'en idhayam' song is very good. and i also observed the similarity with 'thogai ilamayil'. but, it sounds very fresh.
  i think, the people who do the sound tracking, should take care of quality recording.(that's one very important place, where ARR scores full marks.)
  In fact, Raja's early 90 and before movies were very good in terms of sound quality.but, of later, the quality of sound is deterioratin. it may not be Raja's fault, but this needs to be addressed.

  Thats right, early 90 recordings of Raja were good. I think it was because of digital recording of real instruments. Most songs of Thevar Magan are very good.

  A small FYI ! Check out the latest "Rare songs" uploads (sample) in RAAJANGAHM ! Interesting to note the original version of the tune "ENNA SAMAYALO !" from UNNAL MUDIYUM THAMBI in "SAMAYAL PAADAME" from the movie "MANIPOOR MAAMIYAAR". IR has changed the instruments & interludes in the UMT version.

  most of the dF'ers know about it. It is rather a very very old news, it had been discussed here long time ago.

  For those like me who have been searching for CD's of old IR movies: There are new editions I recently got when I was in Madras:-
  
  One was a combination of Panner Pushpangal, Kadal Meengal and Ellam Inba Mayam and the other Alaigal Oyvadhillai, Tik Tik Tik and one song from Aradhanai and one from Metti (unfortunately not metti oli...). These two CDs were recently released by Universal.

  I too liked the song 'en idhayam' from Ilayavan.
  IR has been giving the unexpected so far. In hyped films his music is sub-par and in movies like these he sudenly comes up with a good number. But as Kiru said here itwould be nice if IR does digital recording of natural instruments rathewr than going completely for the synth. those sound like synth-generated flute pieces to me.

  even the other song by Unni, bhava is not bad at all tune-wise. should be a decent album overall i think. Unni substituted with SPB would have made the songs better, IMO. in higher octaves Unni's nasal singing seems pronounced.

  I like four songs from Ilayavan. It is definitely a better album than KKP and KUT. SPB has two songs and they are good too. One of SPB's songs sounds kind of early 90s song, but it is catchy too. I wish Raaja comes out with albums like this frequently.

  There's still no trace of 'Bharathy' and 'Ilayavan' in Toronto (Canada) stores.
  
  I checked last night. They have several versions of 'Rythm', but no 'Bharathy'.
  
  I am running out of patience. If they don't have it by next week, I am buying 'ayyo pathikichchu' as well:-)
  
  Toronto has a huge Tamil population and is a huge market. Why does it take this long? I have no clue.

  Young people make a big percentage of the TFM customer base. And often times young people dont like anything from old people :) 2 o3 yrs back I had a engineer work for me in Java/ActiveX etc. high tech stuff you could say ..his age was almost twice that of mine ..(even took off from work for cardiac arrest). He was good but thinking back I am wondering whether I would have hired him in the first place !!
  Anyways, if at all I am capable of advising ..one could whatever one wants at any age..but just hurry up :)
  (note this advice is not for rAja :) IHMO he is young as ever :))

  Can give me the site where i can listen duets by IR where both the singers are male.
  For example
  song like 'Ennama Kannu' from movie Mr.Bharath
  where Malayasi Vasudevan and SPB sings ,
  'Thenmadurai' and any such super hit songs from IR. I am sure there are many but if someone can list them and give links

  1. 'Kaattukkuyilu manasukkuLLee' - thaLapathy - SPB, KJY
  2. 'Poongaaththu ..' - Nilavee mugam kaattu - SPB, IR
  3. 'Hey Raaja ..' - Jallik kattu - SPB, Mano
  4. 'Saandhup pottu ..' - Devar Magan - SPB, Kamal

  'Aaandaan adimai' is by IR,. Also 'Kaathalaagi' is by Yuvan Shankar Raja. I think as Deva is doing lot of movies these days., These guys put his name as MD When in doubt - Probability of success is High., ;-)
