The Rhythm Of Raja

Dear Friends,
I am starting this thread as of late I happen to hear people saying that "Raja is for Melody and Rahman is for Rhythm"! But in my opinion, Raja is the King of Everything! Because in Rhythm, He has done songs with rhythm instruments only like :

1)"Raja Rajadhi" - Agni Natchathiram
2)"Ilam Nenje Vaa" - Vanna Vanna Pookkal

etc.,etc., I would like to get more of His special rhythms! Please post relevant postings only!

  Adada song by Jesudas in the movie "Pithamagan" is a classic example for complex rythm pattern. Raaja ! you are still ruling with your Isai Raajangham!!!

  Kaalai Nera Kaatre Vazthi chellu from Bhagavathipuram Railway Gate. Was listening to it yesterday. Wonderful placement of the tabla beats starting off after 2.5 counts.

  How could you all forget the famous "Megam kottattum" - percussion pravaaham at the end of the song ?
  Few songs which instantly I can think of, notable for rythms are
  1. Vilakku vaippom from Athma- Esp don't miss the beats when the charanam starts
  2. Dhaagam edukkura neram from Enakaaga kaathiru
  3. Adi aadi varum pallaaku from "I love India"
  4. Idhu oru nilaa kaalam from Tick**3.
  As I type, so many songs come to my mind like "Aasai adhigam vacchu " and Iam tired.

  i think everyone missed the intro of "sangeedha megam" from udhaya geetham.
  
  also, "rasigane en arugil va" from manipur maamiyar had excellent rhythms.
  
  did you all know that the now famous sivamani played it with a torn drum to complete the recording even without IR's knowledge?

  "aasaiya kaathula thoodhu vittu..." from Johny has an excellent rhythm. i still remember, people cheering and dancing in the theatre, almost 15 years after the release of the film!
