'Paadavaa' is a nice song, Good tune, made better by Sujatha's casual way of singing., The song is picturised nicely and I am sure it is going to be in the top of charts for sometime.,
Hmm, About these new MDs, I think we all should remember something, When you are trying for a chance in cinefield for 5 or 6 years, You will defenitely have some good tunes (In case you do some homework :-) by the time you get a movie, So naturally we tend to use all our proud compositions in that movie itself., So, Deciding on the quality of a composer by his first movie performance is not correct, Remember, Eventhough people were praising ARR very much after his 'Roja'., He Got his big recognition only after GentleMan - His third movie as he performed consistently in the first three., Same is happening to YSR now., For Harris and Praveen MaNi, I guess we need to wait for at least two or three movies to come.,
Anyway, Good debut by Praveen maNi ! Let us wish him all the best :-)

Guys
Here is my take on this album.
First of all if you are IR fan please dont listen or buy this album because its definitevly not meant for your taste once going depends on what type of music you would like to listen to.
If you are one of those typical tamil formula music listener then skip this.
Now if you are looking for something new, pepy and funny then go for this album.
All the songs are different,PM managed to sound little different from ARR though he is a close pal of ARR.
And to me most amazing thing in Bailo song is usage of Guitar Harmonics now tell how many tamil or hindi songs have ever used Guitar Harmonics
first it will never fit in our songs but PM managed that in this song cool stuff.
And our guys can never accept new stuff they will be pessimist just like when ARR came to TFM ofcourse he proved himself by his successful albums so lets wish good luck for PM,Harris and the new talents its time we also got some fresh new ideas getting tired of Devas,Sirpis and Sas.

BTW who is the song writer man what a lyrics
so skip the lyrics and listen to the tunes only :)
PM next time make sure you also get some decent song writer esp Hey Mister is not only tamil kolai but also our panpadu kolai too much
why dont we get some new talented songwriter only one VM in whole TN?

I am a IR fan and I like this album, not all songs though. This guy is trying a mixture of various styles (of TFM MDs), not necessarily following groove-based songs entirely (Note there are lots of interruptions, different interludes). The recording is more acoustic than POPish like ARR, YSR or HJ. The arrangements is also acoustic like ambient guitars in the background.
Yeah, pathetic lyrics. UV said it right 'paNpAduk kolai'.

Making waves - Meet Pravin Mani, the man behind the lilting score of "Little John"
LITTLE JOHN, the Jyothika and Bentley starrer, received rave reviews for its refreshing background score and the numbers - Lady don't, Baila le Hoila and Laila Laila. Music director Pravin Mani was widely appreciated for introducing these fresh notes. Mani is one of the promising young breed of music directors from the South . He has worked on the background score for super duper flicks such as Alaipayuthe and Alibaba and 40 Thieves, a Pentamedia film that went for the Oscars, as well as for hits such as Shakalaka Baby and Jhumbala. When not working on scores he has tried his hand at crooning and has been rather good— the number O humdum suniyo re that he sang with KK, Shaan and Kunaal for Saathiya was a runaway hit.
With a great deal of achievements in his kitty in a very short time, it has been not exactly a long journey for himsince he started working with A.R. Rahman in 1998 "He has been a major influence. Working with him is an experience. He is an amazing person, an enigma, an epitome of music inventing new sounds, which accounts for his music that has a global feel to it. According to a study, he is considered the highest selling artiste in the world and that his albums sale equals those of Britney Spears and Madonna put together," informs Pravin Mani, who was on a visit to the twin cities recently.
Currently based in Toronto, Pravin has been doing a lot of background scores such as for Deepa Mehta's Bollywood Hollywood as well as for Hollywood films. Some of his recent films as a music director have been Son of Alladin and Ottran (starring Arjun and Simran). "Presently one of the movies that I have been working on that has inspired me a lot has been Dancer, based on the real life of a handicapped man who loses a leg and has a never say die attitude in life," he says.
About his foray into Telugu film industry. "Why not. Incidentally, Dancer is being made in Tamil and Telugu," he says.
Apart from background scores he is also working on albums. "I am also working with a band VIP (Voices in Public) on a hybrid album adding the tabla and other Indian sounds," he says. A jazz pro who is equally enthused by Carnatic music, his compositions range from jazz mixes to extended club and ambient forms that have a dance feel about them.
On the influences that go into making of his music, he says, "music arrangement and growth of technology, art and science." These factors are reflected in the new age feel good rhythm that he brings. Here's looking to hear more from him.
