This is a topic about recollecting songs (or parts of songs) which are in the movie but didn't make it to the audio cassette/cd. A few of these songs may have appeared in some rare collection on a cassette. Let's list down these uncommon songs also.
Immediate examples coming to my mind are:
Un thayavillayaa (by Shobana (aka) Devi) - Sindhu Bairavi
Marainthirunthu paarkkum marmam enna - Thillaana mohanaambaal (the stanza starting "navarasamum" doesn't appear in LP or cassette version).

Manisekaran Avargaley, Ungal arumaiyaana detailed vilakkathukku Nanri. I am glad you gave these details some of which I am aware of. Only missing point is in your Chronological list of events, if you had placed the year "Anbey Vaa" was released it could have helped clear our confusion about why "Uthayasooriyanin Paarvaiyiley" line was replaced.
One point to ponder is that I used to be frustrated at the edited version of all the "gems" of MSV, TKR, KVM era due to this "3 minutes 10 seconds" time limit. Lots of excellent lyrics and wonderful interludes were obliterated by this technical snag. The earlier songs of IR went through this and then technological advances enabled all later songs to be recorded in full-length( some songs even extended to 9 minutes ). The only source( and hope ) of recovering the full-length songs of MSV-TKR-KVM era is ( I was told ) the original "spool-tape versions" or good Video Copies of the movies( which is what I have done for some of the movies and songs ).

Manisekaran:
Thank you. Your digressions are equally informative and interesting as your main postings.

Amar
Anbey Vaa is 1966 release as the 83rd film of MGR.
Congress was in rule at that time and therefore, there was full censorship for scenes, dialogue, and lyrics. Uthaya Sooriyan is DMK symbol, and the censor board did not allow the lines in the film.It was in 1967 that the DMK party came to rule.

Wow! Nice topic.
"Paal irukkum, pazham irukkum" (Paava mannippu) song has a line which goes like :
"Vedam ellaam kaadhalaiye maruppadhillaiyae"
In the movie, the above line continues as
"Adhu vedham seidha uruvam pola maraivadhillaiyae"
whereas the original track goes like
"Adhu vedham seidha Guru-vai kooda viduvadhillaiyae" (You can still hear these lines in some cassettes).
I wonder why the lines were changed.
Again, in the song "Engae en jeevanae.." (Kamal-Ambika movie), in the 2nd stanza the original lines (as in cassette) are :
"Kaama baanam paaivadhaal, kaayam aahumae.."
but in the movie, it sounds differently.

There are many bit songs from IR which he used to add during the time of rerecording like some superb naattu paadalgal from the movie "karaiyellaam shenbagappoo"

There was one song in 7G Rainbow colony, which I believe is sung by P.B.Srinivas.. but was not there in the cassette.
I noticed PBS's name in the credits displayed after the movie.. but the voice sounded more like Ilayaraja's.
Also there was one bit song sung by Ilayaraja in Pithamagan when friendship develops between Vikram and Surya in the Jail.

Sharath,
That song from Pithamagan 'Yaarathu, yaarathu, manasa therandhadhu therandhadhu' is a superb song and is apparently sung as if Chithan is singing for Surya character. I think its in coolgoose.
