If you think that whatever ARR scores is pleasing to the ears, then please think twice after reading my review. In Tenaali, the songs lack a basic thing i.e a tune or a raga.
1) SWASAME: The only saving face in the album is "Swasame...", that too because of SPB's golden voice. Really good work by SPB and Sargam. Comig to other songs.....
2) INJERUNGO: "Injerungo Injerungo" is really pathetic and a wrong selection for the 1st song in the casette.
3) TENAALI: The worst song of the album is "Tenaali.." by SM'Devan and Clinton. It starts of like "Pachai Nirame".He spells out the word "Tenaali" as Then Aali (Honey Aali ??). Long live Tamil..... !! The beats and the song are disconcordant and I get the feeling that the song recording and music have been done at different places.
4) ATHINI SITHINI : "Athini Sithini..." is not all that impressive. It is better not to comment about the lyrics of the song.
5) PORKALAM: "Porkalam" is okay in the beginning but loses track as the song progresses. I am not sure whether such a slow song will do the movie any good. It could slow down the pace of the movie which is expected to be full of comedy.
6) ALANKATTI: "Alankatti" is slightly better than the above songs, thanks to Sujatha and Kamal (especially when he shows the transition from high to low pitch).
LYRICS: The absence of Vairamuthu is conspicuously felt. Vairamuthu plays a phenomenal role in ARR's success. They shouldnt have parted ways with each other. Atleast they should have had Vaali. The lyrics are abysmal, and I am disappointed for Kamal and KSR, to say the least.
FINAL WORD: Maybe the album will become a hit (thanks to lot of die-hard ARR fans and Kamal fans), but I'll tell u what.... I feel sorry for all these ARR fanatics who think that they are following "MUSIC" and not a "PIECE OF CACOPHONY".

Yo Raaja Rasikan...
You come here and you RUN your mouth... telling OnE_MeAn_JuStIcE that he has no sense... Well.. OnE_MeAn_JuStIcEs SaYs JuSt ThIS..
Go do your homework first... Just Read this.. before running your mouth... KB is a wonderful director there is no shadow of a doubt... BUT.. ARR was not introduced to him by KB.. Mr Calling me i have no sense..MR's cousin Sharada Trilok...
Looks like OnE_MeAn_JuStIcE gets the last laugh..
You see Mr Raaja Rasikan.. ARR got his break because of his talent... his music is appreciated by people all over the world... and there is no doubt about that...
You might say that IR toiled and sweated.. Well stop.. whining....(awwwwwwwww I worked soo hard.. Lame O')Well today, IT DOESN'T MATTER how long you work... its how efficient you work... ARR in that context IS THAT DAMN GOOD... ARR has got music background 2.. his dad was a MD too.. he went to music college, he studied overseas... HE JUST DID IT.. ITS HARD WORK... man...

AN ABSTRACT PROOF
------------------------------------------------
At an advertising awards function he chanced upon a young man receiving the award for the best ad jingle which he had composed for the popular Leo Coffee ad. At the party that followed the awards presentation ceremony Maniratnam was introduced to the young composer by his cousin Sharada Trilok of Trish Productions for whose company the young man had worked. Mani requested for a sample of his wares. The composer readily complied and invited the director over to his studio where he played out a tune that he had been pushed into composing by his school friend G.Bharat alias Bala who had been greatly disturbed by the Cauvery river tensions. Mani was hooked instantly. He signed on the composer to score the music for his next film which was to be produced by the veteran Tamil director K.Balachander. That film was Roja. That tune would become the song "Tamizha Tamizha". Rahman became a household name in Tamil Nadu overnight and the score of `Roja' was the first step in changing the face of Indian film music. `Roja' won every conceivable award in music that year. Rahman also got the Rajat Kamal for best music director at the National Film Awards , the first time ever by a debutante. He left ads and moved into film music full time. In the five years since Roja, he has created music for blockbuster Indian films including Roja, Pudhiya Mugam, Gentleman, Kizhaku Seemaiyilae, Duet, Kadalan, Bombay, May, Madham, Indian, Muthu kadhal Dasam, Love Birds and others. His 1995 soundtrack for Bombay crossed 5 million units and Rahman had arrived as the "King of Indian Pop" with sales of more than 40 million albums over a period of 3 years.

And Mr Raaja Rasikan...(For your 2nd Q :that you happen to be so proud of asking... Well $25000 Rupees was nothing compared to what ARR, is getting now... honestly the demand for IR has decreased thats a fact....
ARR doesn't need to approach the Directors', The Directors approach him.. The Panchu Arunachalam gives IR what he feels is right because thats Panchu Arunachalam's problem.. IR has no choice but to accept it, it pays for his lifestyle.. but when it comes to ARR.. HE IS JUST THAT DAMNED GOOD... i can tell you ARR's has over 70 and singers and musicians to pay and take care of everything... everyone in his world.. are specialised... to the flute players to the drummer if you went to his concert in Dubai which i attended you would know that..
When ARR did roja.. he did it most of the work himself... and he used only a few singers.. mostly just SPB,Mano in that whole soundtrack..
Well thats all i have to say for you full of zest questions.. JuST BrInG It...

Hey I will still call u a guy with no sense et al..Guy ok...he was introduced to MR by his cousin Sharda Trilok....do u know biz man...The producer has to accept the director's proposal then only a director can fix people...in ARR case he had a KB(since KB was looking out for a new face he accepted Dilip alias Alla Rakka Rahman) if KB has rejected him then still ARR wud be scoring for some jingles...may be all the jingles........
For your 2nd Q :that you happen to be so proud of asking... Well $25000 Rupees was nothing compared to what ARR, is getting now... honestly the demand for IR has decreased thats a fact....
You are confused my boy...my Question was will ARR will be ready to recieve the same 25000 rupees now as a sign of gratitude if KB produces and MR directs a film......certainly not......But in the case of IR he doesnot talk about money to Panchu Arunachalam or Sangili Murugan since these people helped to attain his present status.....hope u understand......
... i can tell you ARR's has over 70 and singers and musicians to pay and take care of everything... everyone in his world.. are specialised... to the flute players to the drummer if you went to his concert in Dubai which i attended you would know that..
Man have u saw Dhalapathi a RAjini Blockbuster in that movie the song Rakkamma u can hear violin pieces some 100 people played that bit.......and mind u no artificial music i mean no Ctrl-C r Ctrl-V...and if u can pinpoint a 'pisir' in that piece i will stop commenting about ARR forever..........Iam sure u can't
When ARR did roja.. he did it most of the work himself... ...hehehehehe did he play all the music Instruments by himself :)
Hope u got my points...
Ready for the next round

Even today Rahman does a extra bit for Mani, like composing the music for AP at such a short notice, not asking for his market price, giving credit to Mani for the good music the combination produces etc? Still the audio cassete of any Mani film does not carry a portrait of ARR. What more do you want him to do? It does not matter how a guy makes an entry. The question is how well he makes use of the opening. ARR has done quite well.
Thenali songs, though a much slow starter than some of his recent albums manages to hold your attention as you keep listening to it. Right now ARR may not be in the same class as Raja but he will catch up in future.

'chodo more baiyyan' is my pick (zubeida). Richa sharma has done an excellent job.

Ramki,
What are you talking about? I am listening to zubeidaa songs at http://www.raaga.com It's fine and no buffering at all

Ramki,
You are right. 'Chodo mere baiyyan' appeals more because there has not been any other song like that and probably is the pick of the album as I listen to it the first few times. But each song is a masterpiece. "Mehndi hai rachnewali", "Pyara sa gaoon" are absolutely captivating too to say the least. Even though the base of "Hai Na" is very similar to "Ishq Bina", the tune is very captivating too. This guy is a real genius.Nothing else to say!
I tried to access Raaga. I dont have a problem either.

Dheemi Dheemi is again a very refreshing melody. I am glad you got hold of the album and enjoying it.
