tenali songs seem majorly situational ... I think as usual, they will grow on us with time ...

Sabari go for the ones facing the stage. My seat was on he side and trust me it was not good.
In toronto the entire show projected on a big screen and that too was for guys sitting facing the front.

The humming (high-pitch) in Athini Chithini is obviously inspired by a Michael Jackson in History or Dangerous. Will post the exact song later.

Porkalam is simply superb. Very soft. There is a melancholy (hope that is the noun!) that makes it so beautiful indeed.

Hi Baskar,
Actually I didn't know that they had already uploaded at raaga.
Mine is not a commercial site like raaga.com as well. I am uploading purely based on personal interest.
Anyway I wasn't asking your opinion on the clarity and connection.
How about that?
Chill out man Just kidding!
Cheers Amplitude

Hi Genius,
As the link says only the song "Tenaali, Tenaali .." is by Ilaya Kamban. "swasame" is by Pa.Vijay.Each of the six songs in by a different "kavignar".
Check the link www.rahmanonline.com which has the song list the singers and lyricists.

thenali songs are nothing different from the usual cacophony of anglisized tamil words, artificial music tones and unnatural rhythm..i have always
found rahman songs having strange ups and downs,
unsettling twists etc..speak out honestly..have any one of you rahman fans felt the same?
music should flow smooth like a river whether it is fast paced or slow..it should
be a melliflous combination of simple poetic words, emotions and sounds mixed at the right
proportions that it should make you feel happy
or melancholic rather than getting irritated..
pl. do not hype ordinary stuff just because
it is in a glossy package..
btw, i am neither a rahman basher nor IR hypster..
i just love music, esp. GOOD music..

I personally feel Thenali (Should it not be Thennali??) is very ordinary.
Swasame sounds like that famous hindi song (Ek ladki ko dhekho tho!...), Porkalam sounds similar ... (some ARR song!), Athini Chithini sounds like Kuchi kuchi and other recylces.(with disgusting HH's high pitch)..
Thenali title song goes in all direction (starts like Vikram.Vikram.., then has that Nammavar Dabbanguthu dance music..)!
And its is better to say nothing about other songs!!!
Totally Disappointing!!!
ARR, we are expecting a better album next time!!!

'Athini Sithini' stands out of all the songs. Excellent orchestration, a good mix of Carnatic raga and Western notes, delivered in style. HH is wonderful. For first listen, all the other songs seem ordinary.

mediocre music from rahman in thenali..
it is better to call a spade a spade rather than
glossing it over..

Athini Sithini stands out of all the songs. A good mix of Carnatic and Western notes, love da miruthangam part, has da rahmans original touch. HH is wonderful.Porkalam (Kedar Raga) Comes Next With da Srinivas's intro pushing da songs to higher level...then u have Alaangati Malai with some nice nice vocals by Kamal and Sujatha The 2nd interlude has da kumi pattu type of huming..and followed by da strings now doin da kumi paatu which i feel makes da song very intresting.. Then u have Swasamea Starts with a good vocal harmony by spb followed by some nice bell type of instruments keepin da basic beat on line..although da intro sounds like Ek ladki ko dhekho tho with some mix from Haira Haira Hairaba...spb and sandhana does it very well to keep up da song..Ingearingo comes next with some beautifull trumpets and srilankan
baila type of songs ..in da arrangements i mean ..the basic beat sounds like da one from yaro yaro yarodi and kilakea nanthvanam..kamal does a fantastic job here and da lyrics r funny and sweet with da intro ingearingo da way how srilanks call their husband..Then u have Thena

da lyrics ..not very impressive..letz see how kamal does in da film..
If anyoen know plz tell me where i can find da mp3s ???
