Why Raja did not introduce any
new Singers like AR.AR has introduced many new voices,
(Infact Raja did use Hariharan's voice)

  all these so called new singers sing in their tamlish accent.the songs which u have mentioned,u have to listen 2 or 3 times before u can understand thge lyrics.that includes ARR also.
  have u heard humma humma?ARR sings the song as if he has not spoken tamil before in his life.perhaps these guys think that killing tamil or singing it with a western accent is a fashion, but i cannot bear it.I would rather listen to SPB,Sj than these guys singing.
  also these new singers voices do not suit the actors.hariharan and udit narayan for rajnikanth in muthu?ATROCIOUS is the word to describe such a fiasco in selection of voices.

  also to add to my above posting introducing does not mean just making a singer a particuar song and then totally forget about him.how many people would remember these singers or thier songs?
  if introducing is just making a singer sing one song just to make the song catchy or for 'difference' sake i cannot accept it as introdcution.because if that is the case then i can include rajnikanth in the list of singers introdcued by IR because he was 'introduced' by IR in mannan.u see how ridiculous this thing becomes.

  Friends,
  Just to make it a point. The beautiful, rich, melodious and golden voice of KJY is exploited only by IR in TFM. Can you mention any other number by ARR except "Pachaikilikall.." to use this voice, which is memorable. This is only one example. What ARR has done is to 'use' the voice as another synthesized sound coming out of his computer. He has not actually 'introduced' any singer. One good example is of Sirgazhi sivachidambaram who sang for the movie "Indira" along with spb (song is "ottakaara marimuthu"). In an interview he mentioned this. He had a throat problem at the recording time. Still ARR asked him to proceed. He used his 'repaired throat' to give a new 'effect'. If you hear this song you will never say that it is sung by Sivachidambaram.

  I think what Rahman has done overall is a good thing. Some of the singers may not be good for TFM but people like Hariharan, UnniKrishnan, Harini are good intros, no doubt.
  
  In fact in all Indian film music, there is a domination of a single singer. Lata in Hindi, Rafi first and later Kishore, TMS in Tamil and later SPB. Ghantasala first and SPB later in Telugu. All of them were great in their own right. But there domination was such that lot of variety was swept under the floor. The listeners were the losers. There was veriety but not much. PBS, AMR in Tamil, Talat, Mukesh, Mannadey in Hindi. So I guess even if singers sing for a song and vanish after that it is perfectly fine. If their voice suits that song it is good. Hopefully the tamlish accent songs will slowly vanish. But my motto, "More the Merrier"

  Synth. voice!, Can you please tell how to bring a synth. voice.. I have been trying to bring a new voice in my sampler for a long time now.. (hope you know what a sampler is)...Romba Hardsir.....
  (if this works people like Bhavatharani can use it for pitch correction.)
  "Sirgazhi sivachidambaram has also sung in Nee pathu Chela ". I am able to identify SS voice clearly in both the songs. Other than MSV and ARR no has used him.

  Cool down sir. I am not an expert nor do I have knowledge like you in samplers. Just wanted to point out. I am sorry if this has hurt you that much.
  And for your kind info, Maragathamani has used Sivachidambaram in film "Azhagan" a mammotty starrer.

  The male singer in "Nee Pattu Chela" sounds like TL Maharaajan, the guy who also sand Naayakan's "Andhi Mazhai Megam...". If so, IR has used him. Are you sure it was SS?

  KR,though some of the singers in your list might not have been introduced by IR we remember them only for IR's songs.some of my friend who are ARR fans have always complained that IR's music means only SPB,KJ,SJ,chithra. this is a myth.IR has experimented with a lot of singers.more important he has brought out the best in them instead of

  Just as pointless, here's some more singers introduced y IR (Most of them are as good as or better than the ones by Rahman ... they can atleast sing Tamil)

  The reason is plain simple.. ARR's songs are in English ( ..is it?.. but definitely not tamil !!) so he has to use singers who can sing that way..
  
  U really need to be a rocket scientist or a multilinguist to understand ARR songs ..

  not only u, i think many would share the same opinion. another example is 'kaaloori saalai' from kadhal desam by ARR.paata adhu! should have been a rhyme in kindergarten! no wonder kids pick up ARR's songs real fast,because most of them sound like nusery rhymes!only difference is that i still remember 'twinke twinkle little star' whereas i can't remember these songs even for more than 2 months.no cogency at all in his songs.sounds like disjointed pieces.

  Remember Sunanda? the gifted singer who couldn't manage to hang on...she was introduced by IR.
  She sang "Shenbagame Shenbagame" (the happy version starting with the lines "Pattu Pattu Pooch Pola") but unfortunately all the accolades went to Asha Bhosle who had sung the sadder version of the song.
  If you could say that Udit Narayan who is an established artist in Hindi Film music, was an ARR 'discovery', by the same measure Lata and Asha should be called IR's discoveries too!!!!
  Remember Valay Osai and Shenbagame Shenbagame?
  
  Yes, ARR has given TFM Unni Krishnan, one of the best on the scene today.But he needs to groom some more like say Harini ratehr tahn introducing one-song wonders...

  Halo how about swarnalatha and minmini, "Povoma oorkolam", and IR's super hit "Sri ranga ranga nathanin Pugazh"- girl, And subha did a good job in Nadodi thendral,
  
  IR has his own taste, ofcourse it was some how restricted to an average tamil voice, But ARR, now trying with western trend.
  
  Here I like to tell about ARR's mixing music with voice. He does a great job, though it is a western tech, he does it good in all songs. Like "pudhu vellai mazhai", "Kadhal Rojave", "Uyire Uyire" , max. all songs he mixes a mild thread of music with human voice, which gives more feeling to the song.

  I agree with Vijay. The good thing ARR does is to bring in new voices. However, he doesn't know how to use then as effectively as IR.
