srikanth,
i have already talked with bb about the page. i'll give him a few originals that i have.
is it possible for u to give the tamil duplicates in real format if u have them? even otherwise i think we can have direct links to tamil songs on the net with appropriate acknowledgements.

wow, what a scorching discussion..
srikanth,
isainagal.com is a good idea. (btw, how about thiruda-thiruda.com?)i understand the angst that you and other musicians/ music-lovers will feel when they realise that they've been ripped off even by those who they thought were beyond such blatant plagiarism..
but my point is, where do you draw the dividing line? in a issue full of intangibles such as this, where do we distnguish between straight lifts, collage-of-flicked bits, inspirations, and influenced (by director, actor, producer) tunes? what weightage of guilt will we apportion to each of these? can we bring in any scientific rationale that analyse such factors and produce a list that goes something like - (just wild imagination, NOM)
death sentence, life sentence, 10 years RI, warning-and-let-off.. and so on??
and, do we need to move these to the 'copied songs' thread?

Joke of the century!!!!
VM has named Deva as a 'Isai Perarasu'.
People like VM has to be kicked out, if
TFM has to be promoted.

Suggested Plan of Action:
1. BB creates a page called Asalum Nagalum
2. We form a fairly objective and more important a knowledgeable group of experts to which a case of copuy is prsented with evidence. Sridhar
Seetharaman, Srikanth, Rjay, Sashi,...and I can be part of this 'vimarisana kuzhu'. The song will be determined a copy if 3 members of the group conclude so.
3. The tekkies (Vijay, BB, MS, Srikanth,....) get together and post excerts from the original and the duplicate once a copy is established. I am saying excerpts
because (especially for western originals) we do not want to deal with copyright issues. I think loading relevant parts of a song for discussion within the
purpose of the page will not create a legal issue.
4. We can invite the attention of the original and duplicate recording company to visit the site or the relevant segment. That way we have taken a step towards
informing the right people and yet, do not come across as a group which wants a downfall of somebody.
Ground Rules (to consider):
1. No MD is above the law
2. For starters we will present/discuss only cases where the duplicate is TFM and the original is non-Indian. Presenting copies of TFM <-->HFM is fun, but
useless in terms of any consequence. Presenting non-Indian --> HFM is outside the scope of this forum, but maybe considered for the Forum Hub.

suresh/rajaG,
i think inspirations/copies of all kinds have to be included. full-length copies are very minimal and most of teh copies have been interludes, prelude music and some notes here and there. so the length of the song (that is simliiar to the original) does'nt matter in my opinion. its the extent of the similiarity. even if the first 2 lines alone are copied, if they are so much similiar to the original they would find a place in the page.
again, rajaG/srikanth your opinion is sought.

GSab, I would suggest to use a common name instead of individuals, we should not list everyones name, I am saying this to avoid some trouble when we go back to India. (I intend to go back...who knows the future)
Especially musicians like us wil be troubled later, the politics they play there is so bad, we are going to clean a gutter so we should be careful we are not counter attacked by germs and what not that comes out of the gutter.
Please dont brand me that I am afraid (if you see i am the one who have trashed deva more:) , it is to safe guard us in the long run.
Any suggestions,

Srik: Good Point! We will just present it to a "TFMForum committee". Apart from some admin. folks, nobody needs to know who is actually a member, who all actually certified it a copy etc. In fact the consensus can be done over phone to preserve the absence of a paper/electronic trail.

Rajag, I doubt whether we can use tfmforum committee, will tfmpage.com admin permit this.
This name is registerd by them,
BB, can you clarify this...
I am ready...I have already spoken to few free lance journalist who are interested in writing about it.......they are experienced people, they have already published articls in the hindu, outlook, rediff, the week etc, they have also interviewed raja and other big musicians.
The will be visiting here soon, i have already sent them the links.
Let us set our goal, Jan 2001 there should not be one single flicked song in tamil film music.

There used to be a certain Filter Coffee Club in the DF which is currently defunct :-) Perhaps you'd care to revive it !!! You can have all the strong filter coffee that you want ! For further details please contact Vijay, Raj et al :-))) For pakkodas/murukku/cheedai etc., please contact MS !

K.J. Yesudas has given an latest album on Oothukadu Collection. Probably he would have given a copy to ARR. The whole Oothukadu lifting started from then. Alaipayuthey song and Pal Vadiyum mugam (kanna moochi yenada). I anticipate some more inspiration (copying) in forth coming releases from that album.

Bramathalam,
Great job identifying similarity of Pal vadiyum
mugam! I had listened to Kannamoochi and it
reminded me another song: "Kuzhaloothi
manamellam koLLai konda pinnum kuraiyaethum
enakkedhadi". The pallavi seems even closer
than "Pal vadiyum". Have you heard that song,
is it also by Oothukadu?
