IR's new albums!

  "Isayil" and "ramram" stand out. A refreshing thing is that no synths and artificial sounds were used. Might sound even better with the film and mind you IR had to redo it with L.subs work.
  Hence he was limited with the orchestration.
  A good album with some refreshing tunes.

  Do you really know whats the story behind LS walking out of HR ??? After listening to only one side of the story, how can u conclude that Kamal hasn't dealt with L. Subs properly ??? Moreover, the Album sounds great to me. If u dont like it, so be it. But y do u want to impose it on others ?? Ungalukku yellam ARR, Deva madhiri copy adichu paattu pottadhan pidikkum..Yenna panrathu...Idhudhan TFModa thalaiyezhuthunna adha yaaralum maatthha mudiyathu..
  If HR becomes a success (I am positive it will be one) what will u have to say ??? Think of some nice excuse.

  The moment I heard the first 2 lines of 'isaiyil' i nailed it as hamsanaadham partly because of the fact that the thala(7-beat misra chaapu) too resembled 'om namaha'.
  
  my opinion is that most of these songs have ben composed to go along wityh the situations in the films. its not like a masala movie like kaadhak kavithi where the director asks u to compose 2 duets, 2 fast numbers, 1 sogs song etc.
  
  that explains why there are many sudden changes in the songs like in the mahalakshmi song. I felt that the change to WC was not all that smooth though the piece itself was impressive.
  
  my picks are heyram and isaiyil thodanguthamma.
  
  listen to kamal singing in a deep-pitched voice for the first song.
  
  the quality opf the songs is definitely better than that of kannukul nilavu.

  hamsanaadham, though is not new to the tamil audience and to IR. other songs include om namaha, sorgame endraalum, and the beautiful nos. 'thendral vanthu ennai thodum' and 'minnaram manathu' from guru(a mallu song). he has also used this raga effectively in BGMs of guna.

  If you don't like it then why do you wish to impose to others.Does it mean that others should dislike it.We have wait until the movie releases because I personally feel all the songs are for the situation and not the other way round where other MD's music is.People like ARR and Devas score the music and then add to the movie where there wouldn't be any relation to the scene.So do you wish the same thing from our maestro.Never.Another thing is you cannot always expect a Johnny or a Nenjathai killathe from him.

  I don't want to compare ARR or Deva here! They have their ways to compose songs which i don't care. I only care about IR's albums in this thread! Speaking of quality of songs (since someone pointed out), a song which doesn't impress me would be at the bottom of my list since i consider this as the most important factor of quality(given the fact also that its a original composition).
  
  Also i don't exercise any duress here by entreating my opinion. I just try to substantiate my views by reciprocating!

  I think you are comparing two personalities of totally different capabilities, its something like asking IR make kalpanaswaram, in atathalam, in varnaroopini raagam. May be its not hard for him, but still... its not a right comparisn with IR and LS.

  It is my opinion that every artist in TFM be treated fairly on whatever terms may be.. I wouldn't let down someone when it is down to the short stroke, having got the figment in shape. I did call anyone by name, just said may him face the music. Also, the whole episode is on IR's new album HR, i didn't digress much. No one can expect me to jump in the bandwagon and praise the album regardless. I have not broken any rules here, however if you feel you may delete my postings and save some pride for kamal :-)
  
  Lastly, i wish HR becomes a success and doesn't end up like a flash in the pan.

  I belive LS and raja are different in only one categeory, LS performs carnatic music live shows, otherwise they are a same, like raja is a student of WC, raja scores for filmS, LS is also an WC and also scores music for Films, what way he is superior or different?, I do not know.
  
  IR make kalpanaswaram....
  I think any form of music is made up with swarams, and all rajas composition are karapanies!....so he can make kalpanaswaram!...

  It is really Millennium treat by Raja with two beautiful album like KANNUKKULL NILAVU & HEY RAM. Thanks a lot for all your feedback. While Both these albums are standing out like TENDULKAR'S one day innings, there is a silent album of IR which got unnoticed like MANJREKAR'S support play, Yes guys I am talking about TIRUNELVELI album, two songs are just too good, I will upload them by Monday as I am going out of town. Till such time enjoy HEY RAM, IR isai mazhaiyil nanaiyungall

  Both KN and Hey RAM did not disappoint me. I would predict both of them would be hits. The songs sound new, fresh and different. When people listen to copied and recycled music like DEVA's, they would certainly apprciate these fresh sounding songs.
  
  I guess the songs of Hey RAM would certainly be a hit when the movie is relased.
  
  I liked the small piece of flute that comes in the Asha Bhosle song in the beginning (when there is a bengali - i guess - speach).
  
  I also like the violin bit in the second interlude of isayil, but the beats seemed prolonged, probably to fill up the happenings on the screen.
  
  I am already curious to watch the movie to find why Raja used miridhangam in the first bit of vaishnava Janadhom, when he could have used tabla (which would have made it more north indian). Is it to blend with the paasuram that folows or the scene demanded it

  The first song " Hey Ram" - the picturisation would be good if it is shot with the moving crane camera ( I had the privilege to see the shooting of Marudhanayagam at karaikudi - where they used this huge moving crane camera - very rare in indian movies!) - very much interested to see the movie!!!
