>>"Latino's are proud of latin music,
blacks are proud of black music,
but tamils are not proud of thier own rich folk and classical music. Atleast they can keep quiet if they dont understand it. " if all they want is shakalaka baby, why not listen to english songs it self, anyday they are better!.<<
This shows that you have a poor understanding of TFM...please read earlier threads of how IR and ARR have infused their originality and western influences in the evolution of TFM

BTW...Nayak's promos are running on MTV and Sony and also Sahara I think...."Shakalaka baby" and "Kuruppu Chiru.." hindi versions with almost the same picturisations are playing...I wonder what they'd have done with the "Azhagana Raakshsiye" number ?

Laggan is similar ( may be effortless change ) to JODI.

NAYAK : repeated same stuff.
Looking at this dont U all feel that I am
relaxing for a long time.

Yaa. Nayak's promos are on. Shakalaka and Kurukku are retained with some instrument changes to suit hindi audience. Mudhalvane and Azhagana are changed and two new songs come in that place. For rest of the songs, I don't have any info.

The master is too modest.

This is where IR is lacking behind.
IR never bothers about the taste of the NIs and SIs.
If this has been taken into considerations, Heyram
would have been a success, atleast audio.
One more doubt I have is If IR dont want to change his polocies for the sake of Northies of
our country itself howcome He is aiming at global recognition Which he can achieve only if He can forget that he is an Indian.
"To gain something U should forget somethings"
If IR realises this, No one can stop him.

Even the nature is a cycle right.
the same sunrise and sunset.
the changes r summer ,winter and rainy.
So Rahman is following the nature strictly is
what I feel.
I feel like one Rahann cycle is over.
I dont know when Earthquack is going to come in Rahmans life.
Dont think in the other way.
Earthqu... in nature = Major changes in Music by ARR.
I feel as Earthqua.. comes very rear, ARR music also changes very rear.

Sundar:
ARe you saying about this song....
"piya bina...piya bina...piya bina piya binaaaa
laagena...laagena...laagena...
piya bina.." (Jayabadhuri stuff)
If that is so, then you are terribly wrong. The tunes are far different. I am sure about the film . Are you saying this or something other?
- From: Common Friend (@ 203.197.141.187) on: Thu Jun 28 13:47:01 EDT 2001
Read "I am sure about the film " as
I am not sure about the film name.
- From: Common Friend (@ 203.197.141.187) on: Thu Jun 28 13:51:16 EDT 2001
I think its,
"piya bina...piya bina...jiyaaa
laagena...laagena...laagena... laagena
piya bina.."
Some thing like that.
LV: You should be knowing this.

why are we discussing the so called new albums of ARR?
most of them are either recycled or tamil versions of hindi tunes or vice versa.
Infact ARR should set up "Institute for CUT & PASTE technology in Film Music".
perhaps he could teach other MDs the tricks of cut & paste.

Review of Nayak
chalo chale mitwa-Udit Narayan, Kavitha Subramaniam-Hindi version of 'kuruk sirithavale'.
The first interlude is modified in the hindi version. Kavitha Proves how an experienced singer can amplify the sweetness of a beautiful tune.
Much much better than Mahalaxmi.
Same cannot be said about Udit though. Lyrics are pitiable.
(main tere piche hoon(im behind you)
paanv ke niche hoon(below your legs?))
chidiya to hoti to- abhijit,Sanjivani-Hindi version of 'azhagaana ratchasisiye'.
I would say Rahman has spoiled the whole song. Somehow the song sounds very artificial in Hindi and lacks the energy of the original.
Tune is same but interludes have been modified.
The song misses thaalam in the charanams and its been done so obvious.
Sanjeevani, looks like a new singer, has a good voice and she does a neat job. ARR must have repeated SPB, Abhijit doesnt infuse any life to the song..so blant.
Ruki suki ruki- shankar mahadevan and alka yagnik- Hindi version of uppu karuvaadu.Dunno why ARR opted for alka as to kavitha who sang the original. Nothing to write about this song. 100% recycle.(thenmozhi is changed to manjari :))
Saiyaan pakad bhaiyan-Sunidhi chauhan, Hans raj hans-Fresh tune.
A fast number. Will impress the teenagers.
Shakalaka baby-vasundhara, shiraz uppa and pravin Mani. Photo copy of the original.
kabhi kabhi miti lagti hai - Hariharan, Kavitha subramanian - Best song of the album. A new tune
and lots of new sounds. Kavitha excels. Beautiful rendition. But the lyrics suks. (apologize my French)

There have been incidents happening off late in Kodambakkam, that have made the producers and directors turn a cold shoulder towards ARR. First he demands that the song composing should be held outside India, preferably in Maldives. Then he books a big beach house there and also equipped with kitchen for cooking bonda and bajji. During the composition he disappears suddenly, to be found eating capsicum bajji with the doors shut behind. When the compostion is over he takes 3/5 days to copy a piece from his huge collection of CD's. The worst thing is the producers who come to book him are made to pay a Rs.1 lakh as entry fee into his house and Rs.1 lakh for parking the cars. As a ardent ARR fan I feel disappointed about the fact that ARR is digging his own grave.
