Rex,
obviously u can't expect guru to be selling well amongst the likes of arunachalam, suryavamsam etc. who bothers to listen to mallu songs in tamilnadu anyway? even i would not have known about such an album if i had not bee a TFMDFer. IMO, all our guys back there who have not heard that album are losers.

Ravy: You are right. Ofcourse, the cassette I bought has Kavikuyil, kAtrinile varum geetham and gAyathri.

It is not that I am refusing to accept -ve opinions. The same pee soo commenting couple of numbers as good with minor exceptions and immediately turning them down and saying Post-1988 era of IR, KR-ish etc...

My opinion is even if it is -ve, give it only to the specific film songs which is being reveiwed. I feel, We do not have to drag IR as a whole into this thread (IR New Albums)

Dear ram/cram,

I request u to read both of my posting related with KK again. In both the posting I've mentioned tht I've felt some KR-ish styles.

Each MD has got his own stamp/style/perfume/color or wht ever u call it in his score. By listening to a song, we could able to say its ARR song, its SAR song, its IR song, its MSV.. Something unexpalinable thing in their composition makes me to identify the saayal .

And regarding KK, I've understood/realized/smelt/felt something as KR's stamp after listening few of KR's own compositions. Same for IR too [IR style/stamp-ai raththaththula kalakkara aLavukku enjoy paNNirukkEn, machhci!] But while listening to KK, wht I realzied/smelt/felt was more KR stamp/style/.. than tht of IR. Thats what made me to say tht its KR-ish. [It may be due to tht fact tht these day IR only write scores and KR takes care of the orchestration & recording.]

I cant make u to feel wht I've felt. Its subjctive and individuals opinion.. By commenting/comparing with already known styles/songs, we give clue to guys who have similar feeling... For eg, me and raghpapriyan felt similar to some extent, so whenever he posts some review, I will rely on his words becos ... we seem to be having similar taste wrt IR-ism.Thts the idea of so many people commenting on the same album...

and immediately turning them down and saying Post-1988 era of IR, KR-ish etc...

Im not turning down.. and I still say they are the possibly good songs which appealed to me ...

I feel IR's music was excellent even for kuppai films prior to 1988 and I could able to buy cassettes with out even bothering whether its a hit or not. I felt his tunes in them were better. But nowadays I have to be selective as I was disappointed after buying few post-1990 IR albums blindly...

Ofcoure, IR is more than my favorit, but I find his earlier songs to be innovative and absolutly mesmorisinig.

And all standard disclamiers hold good for this post too. Specifically wht I ever I've disclaimed in my previous posting ;))

Music director Ilayaraja has tuned in seven songs in praise of goddess Amman. Three of them - ``Kammatchi Ammanukku Karakam Edupaen'' (Sujatha), ``Amman Pugazh Paada'' (Ilayaraja) and ``Munthi Munthi Vinayakarae'' (Chitra) are very melodious and sure to sway the fans in Supergood Films' ``Kannaathaal.''

The violin/flute interludes in nandavanak kuyile and iLaiyanilave are terrific.
Especially the first interlude in iLaiyanilave and the second interlude in
nandavanakkuyile are easily the best in the recent TFM. I wish He would continue
to score more like that. The songs are quite tuneful.

Ennai peththa rAsa is very soulful but a typical, IR Signature song. Repetition
could have been avoided. thaththi thaththi boasts of jaunty beats and is very radio
friendly. Other songs are so so.

Hi Nags & Nesan,

Don't worry there are bunch of movies to come from IR the great, I am very eagerly looking for 'Time' and 'Nilave Mugam Kaattu' - a film by mu.Kalanjiyam, IR has been consistently scoring well for his earlier films like 'Poomani','Kizhakkum Merkkum' and 'PoonThottam', so lets look for the best. Then there are other movies like 'ThiruNall',Parthiban New Movie,Cheran's next movie , by success of KK hope Agathiyan's next movie too, so don't worry..

thanX for ur info. IR has a min. of 20 films in hand ! OK! but he is not getting any new movies., that is the only thing that makes me worry ! he should get more movies & give us more & more good albums., ithuthaan en aasai !
