  folks,
  for a song to become super duper hit....it is not necessary that the movie should be a box office hit. I mean it is not the only CRITIERIA to be considered.
  In my opinion "pandiyan" songs lacked the typical IR-Rajini touch. Say take "rajathi Raja" ...it had both IR touch and Rajini's...especially songs like "enkittey mothathey..."
  In pandiyan...this type of typical Rajini stuff was missing.
  I would rate "annamalai" songs high when compared with pandiyan songs alone.
  
  some of flop movies of Rama Rajan's movies had very good songs by IR ......like vaasalile poosani poo vechuputta..." forgot the movie name. These songs were telecasted lot of times in "oliyium oliyum" but pandiyan songs weren't.

  Can anyone redirect to any links where i can listen to 'Doubles' by Srikanth son of Deva(thiruttu Deva ;). By the way somewhere in this link I read how ARR and others dupe the live audience by sync their lip movement for the background CD play incidentally comedy of errors happened it seems on the audio release of Doubles where the music director was embrassased as they couldnt continue because of the Audio CD had troubles, so much for doubles !!,God pity on our people ,i think the future MD of tfm will get even worser if proper and talented people are not encouraged!!
  I think with all fairness Mr. Karthik Raja does deserve a chance and break this guy is really talented,u can judge yourself by listening to ullasam,Grahan and the latest pop album he released

  dudes...I had been to SFO last week........went to a SPB concert .....aaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....I dont have words to praise him.... he sang sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo beutifully................ he was all praise for our Raja...... When he was saying all goody goody stuff about raja...you know the whole audi went into deafening claps .................I couldn't control my joy..........appadiyae pullarichu pochu... SPB was soooo moved by the applause ..that he said he will pass on this news to raja......... I couldn't believe that there are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many raja crazy folks in Bayarea...

  Hi Mottai,
  I too went to his and after that I had an interview with SPB and he was so much moved by MSV and IR's music when I asked him abou their music.My guess he should be pissed off by the other recent MD's and that's why refused to talk about them.
  BTW I even went on the stage when he sang A aathaa aathoramaa song.

  Singer Sreenivas's comment about Raja.
  
  "I am a great fan of IR from the time he became a hit. But singing for him is not enjoyable".
  
  As far as both SPB and SJ is concerned, I think Raja has a soft spot for him because SPB was a close friend even before he entered cinema field and SJ came to sing for him without qualms.
  
  Regarding the 'anbe nee yenna' song, I had alread written my opinion a year ago, in disagreement to Srinath's comment.

  no surprises. IR has never scored for a kalaippuli
  dhanu film; moreover, after 'raaja kaiya vacha', he's not scored for a suresh krishna film either.
  combine these factors with a market-desperate kamal - you could've ruled out any possibility much earlier.

  kalaippuli has no pretensions to making any cinema with a "kalai"kannottam; i'll be shocked if mugam was indeed produced by him (not that it was a great film though; gnana rajasekaran's follow-up to mogamull was extremely disappointing)..
  i think before KKKK, the last film dhanu produced was the prabhu deva+abbas starrer VIP (mus: ranjit barot)

  Well, Yuvan is a pretty smart guy. If one were to go by his work in pUvellAm kEttupAr he would be doing very well in this movie as well (BTW, who was the lyricist in that movie ? ). Yuvan has the recording acumen of ARR and to some extent the melodic talent of his father.
  But teaming with vairamuthu would have given an opportunity to compare his output to ARR's in an
  apples-to-apples level (same lyricist, same recording techniques, but different composer).
