This 'so-called' film critic from REDIFF.COM says 'ABHAY' (Hindi Version of ALAVANDHAAN' is a crap movie. The link is given below...
http://www.rediff.com/entertai/2001/nov/13abhay.htm
How crucial was 'music' a crucial factor for a film like ALAVANDHAAN?

Trend the idle man, I was giving u:
a tip from a female perspective(to attract females),
which i think is far more valuable than:
a tip from a male perspective(to attract females)
:-) As most guys dont have a clue.
U sound like some air sign. maybe aquarius? :-)
just guessing.

dear friends.Just peeped in to see what is happening to the thread i created...I should say i am in love with this "neutral fan". God, is this guy capable of some 'DIPLOMATIC YET AGGRESIVE' disintegration of poor Bharat (or Brat as neutral fan refers rightly perhaps..some replies by Bharath were really of poor taste). In fact, the whole goddamn movie makes much sense after going through neutral fan's details...and i have done some subsequent searching on paranoid schizo disease or whatever, and yep, kamal indeed has put in good effort into the film.
One word to BHARATH, man, if you do not know, just agree that u don't. Why cling desparately on your ego man? like nandhu kamal clings to the big gas balloon. This guy neutral fan has almost got you cornered. Anyways, never thought my topic will feature such a informative talk....

I was disappointed by Alavanthan. After "Hay Ram" I thought this movie would be another treat. May be kamal was too pre occupied with the psyche of a schizophrenic that he could not concentrate on the story line.I pity Dhanu...Thalila thundukuu pathila vezhtiya potuka vendiya nilama :)
WhyNot what will be dhanu's sun sign, Any ideas?

Happen to watch a trailer of aaLavandhaan.
To start with the commentary(my kamalhassan)was in English .I thought this could be the trailer for english version:))but the dialogues shown were in tamizh.
Trailer had vague lines like 'she is a news reader, his fiancee and she is pregnant' :)) and
'This is Nandu, he will change certain lives and take certain lives'.

Hi,
I felt Alavandhan had segments that were good. But overall the movie fails. Kamal's acting as Nandhu was terrific. Due to the various other faults, his acting hasn't received due credit. The hallucination part was interesting but it's not for Tamil audiences. THe cartoon sequence may showcase new technology in Tamil movies but merely ends up irritating the viewer. And, the less said about the story the better. IMO, Kamal should not be given control of story, screenplay, etc. In his zeal to try different things, I think he loses focus of the big picture. He should stick to acting.

karthik,
i just saw natural born killers... not only the cartoon scenes have been copied from NBK but also some of the prison scenes. i think kamal directly took off from woody harrelson in shaving his head... his expressions... his walk out to the interview.. his expression.. the way he kills...
how scizophrenia works... the purpose behind why he kills... a lot has been adapted from NBK..
As Trend said the special feauteres alo had oliver stone explaining the movie shot by shot... I think kamal has taken a lot of inspiration, this one is good though, from oliver stones concepts of trapping out to a parallel world and snapping back to reality... there are really some aspects of oliver stones movie making that kamal used in hey ram in his dream graphic sequence of shooting....
i am still impressed by kamals inspiration of stone. its good starting point! but what irks me was the cartooon.. the cartoon pictures were almost the same...and the way the cartoon broke out and the action sequence is the same as NBK...
but was amazed at the screenplay of NBK.. its n absolutely illogical movie... but quite fantastic... quienten tarantino.. is also part of the screen play!..its a cult movie... no wonder it was banned!
