TFM DFers Reunion - Class of 9x, 2kx - Down Memory Lane

Hi All,

Apologise for this sudden and unusual thread.
We have regular contributors and silent watchers in these forums, some new, some have been there since inception of the forums. Today we have a lot of new faces and there will be more.

I am just curious to know about which year/month did you join in the discussions here..

..I still remember chancing upon newtfmpage in Jan 2001 and sparking off a war in the 'IR's latest' thread unknowingly without realizing the ongoing IR-ARR fans blood feud ! A few of the DFers who were around (and are still)around were : kiru (the audiologist), bharath (a new generation fan), swami (sangeetha vidwan and once Bharath's nemesis!), common friend (a balanced fan), ambleen, eden(who got hurt when I said that he was still stuck in the 70s!), Karthik S (the music dealer who can make out a fake from an original!)...and a lot more interesting people that I have not mentioned !

Could you guys/gals tell us when and how you joined the discussions here and also narrate any funny incidents or discussions that had happened ?

  Hi Raj! I decide to visit the DF on a whim after a few weeks, and what do I see! :-) Nice to hear from you again, man! One of these days we should get back together in the DF and.....nah, that's probably not going to happen ;-)

  Aruvi and others: Unfortunately, I didnt postlong enough here to leave a print in your memories but I am familiar enough with Aruvi to know that this is a fanatic of Chitra from Canada, if I am not mistaken.   How did I miss this thread.
  Cosmician good job,but I started reading all the postings right from the time this thread started
  and some of the postings made laugh ofcourse in a nice way.
  I came across this thread in 1998 thro yahoo while I was searching something about IR.
  Thats how it all started met some great people on this thread like
  Kiru,Arulacran,RajaG,Srikanth,Udhaya,had some fight with STS,but later complimented him with his site :) BUt offlate IR VS ARR has gone from worst to what not.
  But I also thank admin for giving link to my music site and folks like Swamiji,Srikanth,Arulacran,Udhaya,Aditya,Rjay,Jay,Sridhar for very good quality inputs on this site ranging from lyrics to chord progression.
  One of threads I started had lot of discussion if I am right is 'Bharathiary Padalgal',it had a tremendous input from so many people.
  And I still visit this site
  few threads I regularly check is Amateur composers thread and ragas in cinemusic both of them remains a quality thread
  Hopefully get to see your faces

  WE shd thank cosmician for giving us a platform to voice our experiences. I post in my real name and have been keeping track of TFM page thrice a day, in office of course. I came across this thread in Mar 2001 and have been a regular visitor since then. i shd say that this is a very good website, especially for people who r away from home. I am living in Mumbai for the pst 8 months after 23 years in good old Chennai. This is one site which makes me feel @ home, though! wud have made abt 20 postings or so till now, but have enjoyed reading the postings of all others ( minus the horrrible ones that crop up in a IR vs ARR war!!!) Good way to go, and keep it up admin!
