Has Rahman's magic ended ? NEW!

Music director A R Rahman mesmerised Kollywood and Bollywood for the last 10 years. Since his scintillating debut as music composer in Manirathnam's Roja, he never looked back.
Popular directors and well-known producers lined up at his doorstep to get him come up with tunes for them. He single-handedly decided the fate of many movies and was one of the highly paid music directors in the industry.
But today Rahman seems to have lost his prominence in filmdom with mediocre tunes. In the last couple of years, his tunes for the films including Taj Mahal, Alli Arjuna, Udhaya and the recently released Parasuram have sunk without a trace. Does this spell an end to Rahman's magic?
Commenting on this, a senior producer in the Tamil film industry says: 'Rahman has reached greater heights in his career. After his album Vande Mataram, he had gone places. Meanwhile, the album Bombay Dreams brought international acclaim for Rahman, which no other music director could imagine. Hence, it is immaterial whether Rahman scores music for Tamil movies and his tunes succeed or not.'
Meanwhile, a director says, 'lots of young music directors, who can deliver hits, have made their appearance in the Tamil industry. The rise of Vidyasagar, whose recent numbers have been hits, the rise of Harris Jeyaraj, Karthik Raja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Manisharma and Devi Sriprasad has given more choice to the producers, who are also competent enough to give quality tunes and more so they charge less when compared to Rahman.'
However, a few of his fans claim that he is competent enough to re-claim the top spot in the industry. They feel his forthcoming films - Boyz directed by Shankar, New to be churned out by S J Surya and Unnanku 20 Ennakku 18 by A M Rathinam's son Jothikrishna would do the trick. Once these movies get released, Rahman would certainly re-claim his top spot, they predict.

LM..well its shows how civilised person u r...i did't use any bad words...but u did...did u know all sorts of people will view this TFM Page? icluding the elderly and womens !! if u r to use this kind of words...then i can say...u ANTI ARR fans are NOT CIVILISED people...did u see any ARR fans uttering bad words..no they DON'T...but u guys ARE...so just think for yourself what kind of person r u!!!

I think it will be sense to praise ARR with his next hit.For the past three years all his movies are flop.
We can not wait for many years and better to appreciate who gives best albums presently.

Dont talk nonsence lah. I heard yanni. most of yanni is sounds familier. And i find that Yanni is copying ARR for the past 7 years... ARR is the reason for the Yanni's success. The name actually should go to arr and not to yanni. ACCEPT the fact guys. ppl from all over the world copying ARR. all the good songs all over the world got ARR's tunes. so its not arr is copying english yanni spanish french or whatever sounds good, its others who is copying arr including ppl like YANNI!!!

ppl who are talking about his failures are purposefully hiding the fact that Kaadhal virus had excellent songs.
It is comparitively easy to create a melody song.

i think Rahman magic has just started with BOYZ.Till now was the intro to his capabilities.BOYZ is just magic....It wud not be proper if I did not mention that IR had many magics through out his career....stop the useless fight guys and foul language.just enjoy the music..

boys is not bad. but dont over react. all songs except aley aley got nothing other than hard beating drums. just sounds like english songs, even the lyrics is in english. but certainly they all are not bad songs. aley aley is good. but the middle part is ir's old tune. boys is better than arr's reacent albums. he has done a not bad job. for that u cant claim it is better than other md's albums. well if u compare kakha kakha with boys, kakha kakha is still a bit better than boys. but boys is a good album.

i think arr is getting bashed up, all because of his stupid fans. their comments and over-reacting to average songs.. praising arr as god, saying that all other md's copying arr and say that arr doesnt copy at all.. it is too much. poo arr getting bashed up all because of his own(hardcore) fans. the 2nd reason may be arr never show him self as from tfm. he show him self as from bollywood md, and his songs tfm cannot claim as tamil songs. bcause his songs will get released to north b4 it release to tfm. so northies always claim it is their song. so naturally tfm fans will go for other mds like harris (alternative arr). if someone start a thread why arr geting bashed up by tfm fans, we can get more views...

Hi,
ARR music is proven bad in BOYS movie along with his recent failures..
I couldn't believe ARR can make such a creepy music. I think he needs a BREAK!!!
Hope he will fine tune his tracks next time...
He is killing tamil language by the Non-tamil singers.. they are bitting the words as the way they want :(
Hope tamil music indutry will find a good MD soon..
