What is the reason for Karthik Raja's failure and YSR's success ?

Karthik Raja entered in to film world some expectation when ARR has entered with Roja. Karthik composed two Rajini songs Pandianin Rajyathil and Oru Mina Mina (Ulzhaipali Rajini moive).

He gave hits like Ullasam, but most of the songs were copies songs (i forgot the site name that was mentioned in Antha Vikatan magazine). He got chance for one Kamal Hassan film also.

But YSR from the begining enjoying success (not like ARR). But able to maintain his status in the Music Industy. Respectable Audio sales.

  It's better to know about music before arguing.
  
  Music is not always movie songs, it's much more than what u think and it also includes the BGM which gives the real spirit to the film. Songs mostly ends as an entertainer as far as a movie is concerned. Also a good song is mainly based on major components like BGM, expression, fill-in etc...
  
  A good song i based on how the BGM of the song merges with the expression and what instruments are used and where the fill-in's are used.
  
  BGM for the film based on the timing. Considering a situation and calculating the timing for that situation and scoring a music for the exact time frame is where the real work of a music director starts. It's not like scoring some music and leaving it abruptly w/o calculating the timing.
  
  Listen carefully to Illayaraja's BGM and ARR's BGM score. Hope ur own ear won't lie to u. Before critisizing it's better to have a comparision and a scrutiny.
  
  I've never heard of any artice or crtics regarding ARR background score. But even u should have heard of many magazines praising the BGM score of Illayaraja. His BGM is also an important component for the success for certain films. No indian music director has dominated the BGM as illayaraja did.
  
  Also it's not ARR who introduced Digital music, Synthesized music or track recording into the industry. It was illayaraja who introduced this to the south indian music industry.
  
  From a village, starting with folk songs, learing carnatic music, earning a foreign musical degree, introducing digital music, scoring music for a symphony....... all these doesn't happen automatically or just by mere fluke or just by people around who would lap it up like dogs as u said.
  He wasn't born with a silver spoon or he hasn't made his success as cake walk. It was the talent in him that made him great and still continues to make him great.
  
  As GANSPB said there wouldn't be a forum to discuss about illayaraja if he's not great.

  I came here to hear something abt them,but.....
  Comparisons are always odd,and for the guy who says ARR hasn't given anything great after Lagaan,Taal...Listen to KKS and the recent Meenaxi- the tale of three cities.
  YSR and HJ doing better than ARR????lol..
  
  Piratheepan,your comment abt IR is simply unacceptable,IR is a trendsetter and though there are some instances of repetition,IR's contribution is not one that should be dismissed but a thing to get amazed.Its a wonder how you don't understand IR's contribution to tfm.
  
  As for as BGM is concerned pls don't ever insult IR,though i am fan of both IR and ARR,ARR can't compete with IR in BGM department.In India if its Re-recording then its IR..that's all.
  Pls don't throw muds on each other on tepid discussions,An apple is an apple and a Orange is an Orange,comparisons are idiotic.

  KR has a style in his music and when u hear his song u can definitely say it is his. On speaking abt YSR, he is not having any particular style in his music and he just reproduces wt he inspires from foriegn music.
  Its true that Kadhal kondaen has good songs and bgm, but none of the songs were original. When compared to KR, YSR lacks creativity and rides on his luck, spoiling his dad's reputation.

  !!!Let's assume how creative ARR would be when he crosses the record of Illayaraja's 840 films. (of course that's never gonna happen). On a 4 films average ARR makes every year, it will take 200 years for ARR to make 840 films.
  
  ARR 135 films 4 national awards. IR 840 - 3 national awards. So If ARR makes 840 films he should have 18 National awards as compared to 3.
  
  !!!It's obvious that some songs repeat coz illayaraja has contributed more than 7000 songs to the cine industry and private albums. But what happened to ARR, did he loose his creativity in less than 500 songs. Why does he repeat songs then????
  
  He repeats his songs in Bombay dreams, selling point = global value, IR repeats his music for same tamil films.
  
  !!!Better not to compare Illayaraja against ARR. If we start comparing, illayaraja's statistics, illayaraja's contribution to music and illayaraja's 30 years of music industry experience, will speak his fame.

  First of all i want to say sorry to all of you regarding my son Ashwathama's crude behaviour.
  Last few weeks he is very upset because he is not getting any money from me or my daughter.
  we are basically in the flesh trade and IR sir use to pay me and my daughter well.
