Dear On Behalf of IR fans,
First of all,
The word 'raajaangham' cannot be 'pure' Tamil.
The sound 'Ja' does not exist in Tamil. It was borrowed from Sanskrit.
For that word to be 'pure' Tamil, it has to be pronounced 'iraasaangam'. Even then, 'iraasaa' is a Tamil adaptaion of a Sanskrit word.
Since this word has Tamil and Sanskrit in it, all Indiands should be able to identify with this word.
Secondly, and more importantly, the word Raajaangham has been used as an accronym for an English phrase.
This makes this title as universal as 'universal' can possibly be:-)
I am not speakin on behalf of the webmasters. I am also a fan just like you. And I feel this title is very imaginative and apt.

Isai Explorer,
Isail thodanguma sounds like Hamnsa nadham, but it isnt it. I think its a variation of hamsa nadam.. may be some carncaitc experts can throw light on the exact raga name.

Raajangahm, I saw Hey Ram in a Goan theatre - in Goa, it is a miracle that a film has been released here so fast after its release all over India - but seeing the lenght of the film, the theatre operators must have had a field day with the film reels, cutting at random - even the Sanyas Mantra scene wherein Kamal is supposed to become a Sanyasi on the banks of River Ganges in Benares is missing !!
I will have to see it once again when I visit Bangalore in March

digression
I am the only person who will post here in the TFMDF on behalf of RaajaNGAHM. I know that it is not too difficult to use and/or abuse the names RaajaNGAHM or aruLaracan, but authenticity could be verified by sending a mail to me. Once the site becomes online, all information will be provided there. At this time, I would request all IR fans to send me emails if you have any suggestions.
aruLaracan.

I saw HEYRAM , but the music point of view its a big disappointment for me. None of songs are in full in the film, except Raamaraanaalum. If u are little careless while watching the movie with ur pop-corn u wont notice Isaiyil Thodangudhamma song at all. Most of the scenes Raja rules, esp. Hindu-Muslim clash scenes, Kamal's marriage, romantic scenes, All DTS scenes (wow, what a great imagination for these scenes, credit goes to director too.) etc. There are some Raja brand punches, example bgm for the shot where Anti-Gandhi guy recites slogam! Songs..... don't go to the movie with the songs in the mind. Ram Ram song comes (that too half portion) after THE END, J!. (And there is no room for songs too). A movie with international standards, so as the music!!
Contrasts :
1. 1999 part is in White and black while 1947 part in color.
2. There is no reason to score the BGM in Hungary. except the foot part of the Laavani! (Apple vaanga America poganumaa?)

rAjAjI :-)))))
in fact one other mentioned that he thinks of me as an arakkan :-)) 'c' stands for the sound 'ch' when it appears in the beginning of the word or after 'nj' (as in 'manjcaL'), and as 's' otherwise (as in aruLaracan :-)), pacupati (pasupathi), ... )
sorry for the digression folks.

Hey Ram ,
stupendous effort by kamal characterized by portrayal of the events with conviction. The powerful script has helped a great deal for chronology, depiction with some intelligent dialogues. (saw the hindi version, excellent!) I have no complaints about the variety of languages being used since it blends so well with the situation, character frame by frame. IR's BGM is an embellishment, enlivening every scene and its recording is awesome specially with surround effects. Both kamal and IR need appreciation from educated population since i think it would be extremely sad to see a poor response from masses as both IR and kamal have made this movie with lot of gustoes.
The hindi audience were dumb(founded) to see the exhilarating performances/sequences in the movie and were giggling artificially, not withstanding the hang over feeling having seen the kissing scenes that just passed. Don't watch it with teenagers (espc. girls) around , neLiyO neLi neLinchuttu sirikkaruhtum paesarathum...

Shankar - Burning of Ravanan's effigy was during Raama Navami, not Navarathri. :-))
And yes, I too was disappointed with the picturisation of that song.

Guys,
Can anyone give me any info on a new movie by IR. It's a two word title that ends with "... Paarvaigal". I wish I wrote the name down, I saw it paired with "Hello" in a CD. There are some 7 songs in it: 3 by SPB, 2 by KJY and 2 by Mano. Sounds like a throwback IR effort, I'm very interested. Any info on it will help. Thanks.
