I heard on our local radio station that Ivan is an action movie and that it will have 16 villains!
And that it went through several name changes, one of which was Violence! :)

Does the 16 include Parthiban and his dialogues?He cant have a better villain TO the movie!

Parthiban is at best a competitor to Mohan/Sudhakar/Vijayan stuff.His only innovations are the "Pooja functions " of his new movies(Even if the project does not make it to the screen).

I dont understand why IR fans take this joker seriously .He is just one of many אי"ח#₪ who have used IR s name and made their bucks like P.Vasu,R Sunderrajan etc in the 80s.

At one time, I too didn't take himseriously and grouped him with Murali, Napolean and other non-watchable actors.
Swarnamughi changed my conception of him. Now I enjoy his movies for his down-to-earth light wit as well as his casual acting.
True that he is another of an IR Fan but he has not been so staunch. :)
Therefore I don't think he uses IR's name to make money. :)

i too don't feel high of Parthiban. He does try to be a little different but does not come out very effectively. and with 16 villians i don't expect a musical treat either (which is why i think IR did not want to do it fully but looks like ultimately it came onto him. good that it was within the family. otherwise, would have been another treat for IR bashers:))

Yes, Ivan doesn't look like a Carnatic Music-based movie. It's a Masala movie with a lot of adi-dhadi!
You'll never know, one character (Soundarya or Meena) must be a classical singer and our hero will either kidnap her in the middle of a concert or kidnap Subbudu for his caustic remarks in a review ;)!! There would probably lie the only classical music connection.

Wonder if IR's sincere efforts will pay off!

I don't think Parthiban is using IR to create "hype" for his movie IVAN. I happened to watch an casual interview of his, and the interviewer asked,"isaignani patri konjam sollungalen" and parthiban replied,"konjam enna, avarai patri ennal oru naal muzhakka paesa mudiyum. Isai alias Ilaiyaraaja".

Someone mentioned "Housefull" but remember it was for "Ulle Velye" he,Parthiban, is remembered.

Prob this will be a sequel to "Ulle Veliye" after the "Housefull" debacle.

Parthiban and SAR should make an ideal pair.Poor IR!All the best to him!

I have heard a few others too bash subbudu.

I do not know much about Subbudu - Can you tell me why you feel "he knows very little about what he does" - Is his knowledge of understanding carnatic/Music or knowing carnatic as a critic bad??.

I don't judge BGM's on their own, rather how they complement the movie and in such a situation I think Valee's BGM was excellent. In fact I think Deva is very good in BGM, as evidenced in several movies.

Jeera & OISG, i dunno why u have so much against Subbudu? Majority of the artists take his criticisms constructively. ARR & Unnikrishnan are both two classic examples in this regards as revealed in their interviews. :-)
