  spb said in an interview that for MTK, all tunes were composed by MSV, and the orchestration was by Raaja.

  msv composed the main melody .IR did the rest. In fact IR in a stage program long ago mentioned that "Vaa venillaa" was inspired by an old MSV songs which began like "Vaan poguthe". He sung both the versions interlinked together to show how they were similar, to thunderous audience ovation.

  That old song is 'vaan meethile'., The info is there in PPP - pazaiya paadal pakkam of TFMPage.,
  
  Reg., Mellath thiranthathu kathavu songs, I believe all songs are IR's tunes - Don't ask for a proof, Its just my feeling., I could see IR's touch in all the tunes, at the same time there is something extra - probably which came from MSV's experience.,
  
  May be both really sat together and composed the tunes ??

  I think, vaa vennila, oru sanam, dil dil manthail are MSV tunes. Kuladum kannaku does not sound like MSV song. Sakarra kattiku is a recycled tune of IR from sittukurvi song. There could be another SPB solo in the movie, which I could not remmeber, and it could be MSV tune too.

  e.hari, I had the life time oppurtunity to see the recording of kuzal udum kanna song.
  sung by chitra, tuned by MSV on a separte sitting few days earlier. The bgm for this was set by IR. When Ir gave instructions to program the beat, I sounded very simple, but when it blended with the song it was out of the world.
  btw:The song you missed was thedum kanparvai ...

  Vaa veNNilA.. chord progressions are pretty crazy i think (as far as ive seen) They seem to be IR-ish.
  
  Of course I dont know much abt MSVs chord progressions, I always had the feeling that he was stronger in melody and chords were just a smooth accopaniment to the main melody.

  I thought, kuzal udum kannaku tune was very crisp, unlike MSV. Thanks for pointing out thedum kanparvai. That was also a wonderful song.
  So are you saying that 5 out of 6 songs in that movie, tuned by MSV?.

  in all the songs the vaai paattu tune was the contribution of msv. the bgm was entirely written by raaja.

  Guys..my expectations for the music in this movie has increased..Songs based on dialogues..IR reading through the script to come up with the songs..finding out situations for songs..etc etc..director trusting IR completely..wow..how long can I wait !!

  e hari: as I feel there is something about most of the songs. Is it like IR dedicating the movie to partnership with MSV and so composing most of the songs or is it like encouraging MSV to come up with the songs and IR giving the touch of orchestra to them?
  
  Any bets on who composed what? seriously, this is a mystery to me, though i can easily tell apart a Annamalai from a Annai oru Aalayam likewise from aNNAN ORU KOVIL, THIS mTK IS PErplexing? Seems like IR is teasing his fans.

  Not just IR is teasing the duo MSV-IR is teasing. If the tunes are from MSV then as some of us claim they are IR-ish.

  IR is writing all the songs., Its a good news - Last time he attempted this in Naadodith thendRal and did a pretty good job - Santhana Maarbilae and MaNiyee MaNikkuyilee are my favourites., Not to forget simple, but sweet lyrics of 'All the time' and 'Yaarum viLaiyaadum thottam'.,
  
  Something must have inspired him in this movie, Good job ThangarBachan (Name sounds odd, Is he a tamilian ? I know he has written a few tamil ilakkiya books, But still I doubt ...)
  
  If we ignore the movies for which composition is finished, Azhagi and Kamarajar are the two major movies IR is working on, Right ?

  After reading the article in Vikatan, its pleasing to hear, that, IR is atlast scoring music for himself, rather than doing some same old dumb movie. Not to exaggerate, I'm looking forward to listening to the album "Azhagi" (nice title).

  All the songs in Mella Tirandathu kadavu are composed by MSV and decorated by IR. MSV was explaining in a TV show, how this project came into existence.
  
  He told IR had a desire to decorate his tunes for a long time and it happened in this movie.

  va vennila is an old msv song
  van methule inba then payuthe,
  
  its been reused here, ir likes this song very much , he has mentioned this in an interview,
  he wanted msv to comeup with some thing close to that song, it is like math 5*3=3*5, if we make some small change in the van methule song, we will get va veninla.
  
  IR's inspiration for this song can be seen in the a song in udhya geetham song and in "ellorom padungal nal vazhthuu padungal"

  comment, the song you are referring to , I think is 'ennOdu pAttu pAdungaL'. The song you have mentioned is from 'nAn vAzha vaippEn'.

  The song 'All the time' was written by Sujatha. All the other songs in the film were penned by IR.

  for the last time.mtk songs were composed by msv.raaja wrote and orchestrated the bgm for the songs. even raaja has accepted this but apparently his fans can't.

  Are you sure Sujatha wrote that song ? Being a fan of Sujatha the writer, I don't think he wrote that song, He has mentioned in many places that writing songs is a different ball game and he is not so good in it.,
  
  But he changed his mind recently it seems., In some 'KeLvi-bathil' Section somebody asked 'NeengaL een cinemavukku paattu ezuthak kudaathu ?' - he answered 'Ezuthalaamee, ARR ondRu kettirukkiRaar' - there also he didn't mention 'All the time'.,
  
  I know Sujatha has written the dialogues for 'Naadodith thendRal', But this song ... I believe it is written by IR.,

  we can't readily say IR is the MD for Kasthuri Raja, The trend I noticed is this - Whenever Kasturi Raja is producing a movie, He books IR as MD., But when he is doing movies for others (just directing), He goes for Deva - ettupatti rasa and one more sivaji-murali movie are the examples.
  
  Kaathal Jaathi is produced by Kasthuri Raja - So Music is by IR.,
  
  How is my logic ? ;-) One exception is 'thuLLuvatho iLamai' which he produces, But MD is YSR.
