When will the Udit Narayan - Vidyasagar torture end?

Vidyasagar seems hell bent on giving at least one song to Udit Narayan in every film of his, and Udit doesn't seem to put in an iota of effort in pronunciation, forget getting into the emotions of the songs. It's not the question of correct accent, but butchering of lyrics!!! Any ideas why VS has this dreadful fascination?

  udit is great my favourite singer is udit .kumar is poor 'aur woh kishor ka nakal karta hai jab udit sahab ka apna khuda ka bakhsha huwa aawaz hai meri dua hai ke udit ke aage sab jhuke hon.aamin

  why blame singers like UN alone ? The first and foremost MD who started this trend of tamizh kolai through the mouths of imported singers was ARR. I still cringe when i hear 'konjum mainakkale' and 'yaaro yaarodi". Worse, ARR is making even tamil lyricists like vali linguistic murderers- Boys songs and E20U18 songs were almost completely in english/hindi/telugu!!!!
  ARR mathiri tunepoda mudiyattiyum avara mathiri imported singers use panna mudiyum- I think that gives an alpa feeling of being equal to ARR when one uses the same talent he uses. This I think is the cause of a very bad trend.
  And please dont insult chitra/spb/janaki's tamil pronunciations- they are near perfect. Plus, truly sincere artists always work on their pronunciation- example- the great asha bhonsle singing 'september matham'she pronounces words like 'vaazhkai' so perfectly! Recent example,mumbai singer KK singing "uyirin uyire" from kaakka kaaka so beautifully.
  Udit narayan does not do just tamil kolai, he does telugu kolai also. Thanks to the ARR syndrome, UN is a hot favourite with telugu MDs also. I actually personally know of a song in which UN could not sing a particular gamakam and that alone was punched in by another singer!So UN is just insincere. period.

  And Ravi, as a carnatic singer myself, I must point out that in carnatic music, the words are important also.bharatiyar paattu - paarukkule nalla naadu, nam bharata naadu'. Ithe "Baarukkulle nalla naadu"nnu paadina evallo kevalamma poyidum? In my experience, i have seen that most leading carnatic singers pronounce telugu/sanskrit/hindi properly only. Sila peru kolai seyvaanga, telugu/hindi/sanskrit terinjavangulukku ketka romba kashtamma thaan irukkum!

  Udit Narayan is by no stretch of imagination a good singer. There is a dearth of good voices in HFM and lousy singers like UN are having a great time. MDs in HFM use imported singers very rarely and the listners give more importance to pronunciation than melody of voices. Hence great singers like SPB have sung very less in Hindi.
  
  The scene is reverse in TFM! here whether an imported singer is good or not would continue get chances. The more they kill the language more chances that they would get. Lyricists like VM who claim to be crusaders of Tamil language should not stop penning songs to be sung by Tamil killers like UN. We as listeners should stop buying albums sung by language killers.then only this will stop.

  The versatile Kay Kay is not a Mumbai singer. He's a Malayalee (Krishna Kumar Menon), but is pretty good in Hindi, and has given some real good hits there, like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. His Uyirin Uyire in Tamil was really well-rendered.
  
  Udit is good in Hindi, however just imagine Udit attempting Uyirin Uyire in Tamil? Thanks to HJ for sparing us the torture!

  It is quite easy to tell these tortures what thepeople accceps is the matter here.Udit voice has lot of fans bcoz of his fizz.look at his song in tamil,every thing is hit bcoz people acccepts his voice .

  sss, I doubt about people accepting Udit's pronounciation. Yes, maybe Udit does have a magic in his voice. Infact he is one of my favourite singers too. The song could have become a hit because of the music, tune and as you say the magic in his voice but his Tamil - SORRY!

  When Music directors really know how to compose music for songs and select a proper singer for a song. MD's like Vidyasagar, ARR, .....
