  If you had observed the moderator of this forum (bb) has also joined in the mudslinging on IR which is the current trend of this forum. There are many of these so called self proclaimed unbiased music listeners who will criticize IR for any small reason that they will find and will
  praise ARR for any small reason and sometimes for

  Athi, give me a break. Calling a song bad is mudslinging? This is a forum to express opinions. There is nothing that says moderators should not have an opinion.
  
  The song is at best mediocre, made worse by Latas rendition. And, no, I am no rabid IR hater. Get a life, man.

  I am sorry to write this. But as an ardent IR fan it pains me to hear the general talk in the industry about the unprofessional behaviour of IR...partiacularly the inordinate delay in his schedules now a days....the long long long time that he seems to take for even a run of the mill things.
  
  You see to give you an example, let us look at the Laaja thing.
  
  He spent almost one month in a five star hotel in Chennai to compose the score.
  
  Then he went to Budapest for a 10 day recording that covered only about 8 reels of the movie.
  
  He came back and spent another 10 days to mix the electoronics like keyboards, etc.
  
  Now he has just started the mixing of strings portion (violin, viola, cellos..etc.) and that will take another 10 days.
  
  Will you blame Santoshi for regretting his decision to take this man on his team for the BGM. What this man is doing is not professionally ethical. And this view is some thing strongly echoed by the members of his orchestra. But then off late whether song or bgm recording, IR takes a long long time is very well known. And in the process he is bent of losing even the little of professsional respect he has in the industry.
  
  As some one wrote in this thread, he seems to be more interested in doing his experimentation with symphony orchestra at some one else's cost than doing the music required by the film on hand. Otherwise can you find any worthwhile reason for using the Budapest orchestra for this hindi film when he has achieved much more greater results with his own local orchestras for many a film in the past.
  
  The man seems to be in his own world, far far away from reality and in the process digging his own grave.

  Rameshvenkatraman -- who told you all this? Composing with a full symphony orchestra is a time-consuming process (ask John Williams). A couple of months to do all this is very very fast by any standard.
  
  I was the one who had posted that IR is using these opportunities as practise. I did not mean it in a derogatory sense. You think IR chose to compose for Lajja in Budapest? I am sure Santoshi wanted a symphony orchestra to play the background for his movie, and IR agreed - and both of them benefit.

  What I do'nt understand is that the same man went on record(Hey!ram interview) saying that he would'nt just do BGM but the complete movie.
  Why this turnaround?
  Is it a ploy to get into to HFM? If thats the case then Maniratnam is the best way to do it. Or Lajja must have impresed him so much to throw his principle to dust.
  Whatever it is, it smuck's desperation or a much deeper urge to do experimental stuff.
  It looks like at the drop of a hat he runs to Budapest. Hey!ram had subtle scores which is almost impossible to discern for the average ear.
  It will be a great service if he can come out and give an interview on this sudden change in his mind. Raajangham are U listening.

  If IR takes too much time for his compositions as per your statements,
  the producers have a very good option
  in ARR who composes at very high (!!!)
  speed and will request Sabesh Murali
  for the special BGM if he doesn't have
  time (because of his London Commitments).
  
  Another instance of the same statement
  which is a complaint for IR and compliment
  for ARR. And people say I am whining.

  If your idea was to shock people in this forum, you have succeeded, brilliantly!
  You have proved once again that ignorance is bliss- your comments not only confirm that you are totally ignorant about what you are commenting on, but that you are taking pride in your ability to shock people with your ignorance!
  So far the responses in this forum have been pretty serious, coming from the heart, but it is totally refreshing to hear some humour-only i am not so sure whether people are making them knowingly or whether they are unwittingly making a fool of themselves.
  
  Anyway, looking forward to more of your comments-keeps us entertained. I need'nt read anymore sardarji jokes-there is a sardar in our midst itself who goes by the name of Rameshvenkataraman!

  Yes, IR refused to do Hey Ram initially. Then at the instance of Kamal agreed to do it. Kamal might have begged him. Now, do you want him to ditch Kamal. Whatever the story is, IR has a great regard for Kamals acting skills and he did it and rest is history. Doing a song in Lajja to try to Hindi is simply laugable! If you think Hindi is ultimate, then I find no point to argue with you.
  
  Lajja must have impresed him so much to throw his principle to dust.
  If you can clarify what you mean here it will be appreciated.

  My point was IR accepted Hey!ram on condition that he would also do the songs. He overlayed his songs done by LS. Why did he then accept santoshi's offer to do BGM and one song with AM doing the rest?
  He turned 180 deg in 2 years.
  We need an explanation for this turnaround. He went on air after doing re-recording for Hey!ram and boasted about his principle of not doing just BGM's but the full movie.
  As an IR fan I am very disappointed by his action. Hence the desire to seek an explantion.

  Why did IR work with MSV in Mella Thirandhathu Kathavu and Senthamizh Paattu? There was NO condition for Hey Ram. Kamal requested and hence IR obliged. IR had to do since LS completed only songs. What is wrong if AM is doing songs of the film? AM and Anand-Milind otherwise survived by lifting IRs tunes. It was news that Santhosi came to IR for BGM and IR might have agreed to score a song. It is not possible for IR or anyone to announce why they do something or why they don't. If you don't like, it is fine. But if you expect some explanation, then that will be unwarrented.

  things change all the time, IR made statements at that time suitable for that circumstance. now, it is different, people want him to do bgm and out of sheer love for IR, Santhoshi must have wanted a song for pleasing IR who knows?
  
  do we know the dynamics? whatever works is the key to a successful relationship these days....
