IMO, IR's Uravugal is Trash. Thanks for reminding me that. Well, I bought that album and Listened once. I thought that it may be useful for others not to waste money on a album where none of the songs are memorable.

just finished listening to GURU(malayalam) songs in Anand Mahadevan's page. Wow, what a sensational album! I have not heared songs like this by any MD including IR before. This could well be the album of the decade for best melody and orchestration. The song "Aroona kirana" stunned me with its preluding music and i felt could go on and on listening to the song. All the five songs have something,IMO, unique in their presentation. I felt handicapped for not quite understanding Malayalam. IR ungal sevai emathu tamizhukku thevai ayya, please release a tamil version of the album before our Deva,Sirpi hands start itching .I look forward to buying the CD wherever is available in North East (MA,CT,NY,NJ). Definitely worth buying the CD even if its malayalam.

Look to recent Dinakaran velli malar section, good news about IR's DESIAYAGEETHAM doing fine in terms of Audio sales, all the songs are great!! IR THE GREAT, also bonus news on the same IR scorng for Kamal's MARUDANAYAGAM and he uses the same orchestra members who played his symphony,LONG LIVE IR

yes , i feel susceptible for this, but NOT ignominious. Though it was due to my ignorance than negligence , the fact is 1) being language other than tamil/hindi, 2) i did not see the album being hyped before (probably i am wrong!)
I will certainly look for yathramozhi somewhere. After all it is my objectivity that drives me in search for excellence in music!

I just can't describe in words abt Guru's " Thathaaram Mozhiyamma .." Especially when the Chorus says ".. thaaraaro.." ... ratham appadiye
silrirthathu.. Ennavo all songs in Guru and Yathramozhi are haunting me like anything.. Don't miss Pon Veyilie in YM.. Just toooo good and observe ( as u'r name goes ) just before the second interlude in "Pon veyilie.."..it's a very quick and catchy peice.

Solli mudiyathu.. BTW, Why is IR punishing TFM fans with not so good song as YM and Guru.

Why did you leave out "Thaimaavin thanalil". What a rhythm and the background score! What a deiveegam in "gurucharanam charanam naadha" from Guru!

Enjoying both YM and Guru and day by day it grows in me disturbing a lot. Great scores. How I long for such a composition by IR for a tamil album!

Your great concern for saving other's money in buying "uravugal" cd is grossly misplaced. The movie is none other than the Tamil adaptation of "Yathramozhi" in Malayalam, about which several rave reviews have appeared in this forum .. We request you to moderate your comments before using such words as "trash"; if your sensitivites don't allow you to appreciate this brand of music, you are better off sticking to your personal opinion yourself, and not spoil the genteel atmosphere of this forum with your prejudice. Thanks.

Suresh: I do not think 'trash' when used to describe the quality of songs in an album is inappropriate. Mano is entitled to his own opinion as you are and is allowed to express it in the forum. Please refrain from personal attacks.

I heard songs from GURU from Anand Mahadevans page. Songs are really great.

IMO only IR can give such type of music. Hope IR gives more of that type of music again

IR new album just like Ponnuvethukaran and Manam Virumbuthey Unnai are excelent and out of this world.Nobody can create tunes like that.I'm do not listen to IR's Deesiya Geetham.If anybody know about this please send your rewiew to this page.What is other IR new album?Is IR going to work together with Vairamuthu?

Hello Folks,

This is Deepak. This is the first time I am participating in this
forum. I have not given my intro yet, and will do soon.

I am writing this piece to tell you all about the songs of
Desiya Geetham.

First, the overall opinion about this album. It is *excellent*
Buy it if you can get hold of it.

There are 3 top songs

1) En kanavinai kel nanba (By Hariharan) (Excellent)

The song is about a poor man who dreams about what should
happen to poor people in the future years to come
(the lyrics go like 'Patti paal vitra kannakai computer pathiya vendum'
and are very well written my Vaasan)

The first interlude is great featuring an excellent flute work by the
Maestro.

2) Naan vakkapattu (By Sujatha and chorus) (Excellent)

This song is very melodious (about the girl describing the place
she is going to live after her marriage)

A very haunting melody

3) Desiya Geetham (By Yesudoss) (Excellent)

Probably the title song of this movie, by far the best of the
movie...

You will get hooked on to this song right from the start...

This one sounds like a frustrated and angry man singing about the
sorry state of our society... Great performance by KJY and IR
both interludes are excellent

4) and 5) (Very Good)

By Pushpavanay Kuppuswamy

Mannana Porandhavaga
and Appan Veetu (this features people mocking at the sorry
state of our society and are very good to hear)

6 & 7) (Very Good)
By IR himself

Nanba Nanba
and Annal Gandhi

A song of despair and sorrow at the state of the society
(Good lyrics)

8) Ladies Special (By sujatha and chorus)

This song is good to hear
But my inkling is that Karthick Raja must have scored music for this
song. Sounds very unlike IR's score.

Over all this is an excellent album and a must buy for IR fans.

BTW, I also heard the songs of Thalaimurai (music by none other than
the maestro). (Features Rajkiran and Revathi)

Songs are very good. I will try and post a review soon.
