  Staying so far away from home, listening to Raja's music brings back the sweet aroma of my land and my people. Tunes to suit every mood from his most diverse composition is one of the strongest link for me to my soil. I cannot thank him enough for this. Best wishes to Isaignani.

  Hey folks,
  
  Did you by any chance tune in to singapore radios oli 96.8 yesterday at 1 Pm Sing time. (1130 IST) There was this one hour program with an interview with the three siblings of Raja live and Illayaraj himself through phone from Madras. It was great man.

  Of course it was a IR birthday special.
  
  High points on the interview
  
  1. Yuvan and bavadharini claimed that Karthick was IR's chellam. Finally IR agreed to it. To the others dismay may be.
  
  2. All of them credited IR's success to IR's hard work and thier mother. It seems it was she who instilled confidence and respect to dinine force on IR.
  
  3. Yuvan, Karthick and IR are working on a project for a singapore company and are recording 40 songs currently.
  
  4. Yuven and senorita, Bavadharini Idhu sangeedha thirunaalo (what an appropriate song) and Karthick sang one of his mediocre songs i dont remember which onee.
  
  5. They played some IR songs in between and the first one was the worst of IR in recent times. The number from Kaadal kavithai by Ila Arun. (She sings "Ennai polai pEnunda (lice)"
  
  6. The second song was a great one from Thai pongal by IR and Janaki. Sounds similar to then madhurai vagai nadhi. (enna paatuppaa adhu. Aiyoo adikaadhingappa)
  
  7. Karthick said he is his dads pet because he has been with Ir recording and arranging since long and has successfully been able to transform IR's thoughts into proper arrangements.
  
  8. KR also emoted that after hearing one of his melodies IR can in at the dining table and kissed him while he was having his food. That was one of the recent moments he liked.
  
  9. Bavadharini said she is working on a project composing an album (believe me the other 2 laughed here) and is also doing a devotional album with IR. Ir sings 3 and BD sings 7 songs in the album.
  
  10. Yuvan is scoring the music for the next 2 films by C.Sunder.
  
  11. IR has made a devotional album on Mookambika which isto release any time now.

  Sangathil Paadadha Kavidhai is from Auto Raja. That tune was first used in the song 'Thumbi Vaa' by SJ in Mallu film Olangal, of course MD-ed by IR. Excellent song(s)! Thanks to Shibu (for Mallu version) and Velsree (Sangathil, tamil version) for putting them on the web. Come on go, go & hear 'em.

  Murali, first came the Auto Raja song very popular in Radio ceylon in the late 70s!!! Olangal (mal film of Balu Mahendra starring Amol) came in 1982-3. The same song was however murdered in Ek Aur Prem Kahani like the other old IR songs in the same movie

  I agree with your last point that it was murdered as other songs in Aur Ek Prem Kahani, very much! Particularly this song was murdered like anything :( I still wonder why that BM-IR combo did like that. But, I feel other songs were not that bad.
