  In this aspect, HFM fans are FAR FAR better than TFM fans , for ,I have never seen a HFM listener comparing R D Burman and Anu Malik (daler mehendi?? ).But here .......

  ARR is not the greatest TFM MD. He comes in a poor third after IR and MSV (and yes ! precisely in that same order !) What are the qualities that supposedly mark ARR as the greatest ? "Successful", I can understand, "Good" would be an understatement, "Great", would be pretty close, but "Greatest" ? I do not think he has given me sufficient reason to call him the greatest. Whereas, IR has certainly impressed me enough to call him the greatest. While I would be more than happy to spend the occasional $15 bucks on an ARR CD, I doubt if it would ever become a cherished possesion the way IR's cassettes are ! So ARR is NOT the greatest TFM MD and it doesn't look like he ever will be.

  Your smilee not withstanding, you reviving this shows poor judgement if not a mean spirit. There's already an "ARR sucks" thread going on full blast, called "Is ARR running out of stuff?". I wonder what new profundity you have unleashed by reviving this thread. Of course, if you felt good about it you would have used your real name like a real man. I'm ashamed and disheartened to see this. Couldn't you have got your kicks at the other thread instead of spreading the cancer to another thread?

  This thread is already afflicted ! I wanted to draw attention away from the other thread as it was getting a little too personal ! The sidetracking has gone so far that nobody is really discussing if ARR has run out of stuff there ! My personal judgement was that if ARR took the brunt of the bashing, atleast the DFers would spare each other ! But then, you've already proclaimed it as poor judgement and I bow my head in acceptance !
  
  I hope you atleast recognized the deliberate attempt to rekindle and thereby redirect flames in a less personal way !

  Okay, I applaud your intent, but do you not see this degenerating to the level of the other thread? I guess we can't predict it. I just felt sad to proceed in this way when the DF is actually headed towards the positive--IR's symphony, alternative sites for IR's rare music, etc.

  One way that we can keep discussions from degenerating is by infusing life into threads which show promise of a tangible outcome - even if it means fantasizing about Symphonies for a while. In that spirit, perhaps we should worry less about the practicality and come out with more enticing ideas, however far-fetched they may be at this time. Let's go back to the Symphony thread and let this one go back to its tomb in the Archives !
