Why ARR got the Padmashri

He is the 1st M.D to recieve such an award-what do you think is the reason?I think it is because of the impact he created in both north,south India and abroad...

  If I have erred then I accept. But, I got sick of this ARR bashing because of VandeM. Long ago, I narrated a true incident that happened in my school, but what I received are some embarrasing statements. I would recommend to several hardlines here, a pil or two of Digene. They simply could not digest the emergence of ARR. So, they bash him in all possible way.

  i think you guys just cannot digest the fact that , although he is popular now, you know in the heart that ARR as a composer is inferior to likes of IR, MSV or KVM.whether it be range, melody , speed , bgm capabilities ...

  LV, when are you going to drop your notion that if it is "kk" (or) "srinath" etc whatever he says is "anti-ARR".
  
  I just wanted you to note that in this thread kk's initial posting was not against ARR. I could see you picking a part of his posting and ASSUME it to be anti-ARR and fight against it and unnecessarily bring "srinath" into picture.
  
  If u wish to say that same kind of unncessary bringing in were done by HCIRFs and if u believe that those were unnecessary then why you too are indulging in it?
  
  Also, i'm not among those millions who know enough about C Ramchandra. I would be grateful to you fellow forumers to discuss about him (not necessarily in a dedicated thread).
  
  Finally, could you please throw away the "pair of green-goggles" and claim everything as green.

  No, sorry - I dont want to fight. Well my remarks in this thread were often emotional. Its because there are quite a few people out here who are blatantly ARR and often unfairly so.
  
  Sorry, I dont want to hurt u. But the fact is that there have been several golden patriotic songs composed by C Ramchandra (like Ae mere wattan ke logon) and Hemant Kumar (like Latajis terrific 'vande Mataram' in AnandMath in 1953).
  
  However ARRs song stands taller amongst all these great - IMVHO. Thats all that I wanted to say.
