  The name of the film must have mesmerised the maestro into creating re-recording that is outstanding. Ilaiyaraja's soft opening title music that leads to a captivating crescendo makes you sit up.
  
  Thankfully there are no incongruous duet sequences on undulating alien terrain or unnatural romantic overtures. "Ramana" is the story of a mature individual that has been dealt with in an equally mature manner.

  Re-recording is simply superb in Ramana..... If En Mana Vanil, Azhaghi, Ivann have been done the same way, it would have added additional high frequency and crisp pitch to songs....
  
  Hope IR songs retain same re-recording level in all future recordings....
  
  Frankly, Ooorukkoru Katchiyum.... sung by IR in Ramana, is so emotional.... Next to "Thenpandi Cheemaiyilae...." from Nayagan, this song could become very famous....the success of the movie can easily carry to that level....

  RamaNa seems to be getting a lot of critical acclaim, going by the glowing reviews in various magazines and this time reviewers are not ignoring IR's contribution.

  Who is the music director of Telugu version
  of Vazhve Mayam. I think it came first and then only it was remade in Tamil. Its hero is Nageswara Rao. In Tamil it had music by Gangai amaran? I am curious who is the MD of the original version. Whats the name of the film?

  Mumbai Ramki, i understand your interest in seeing a CD/Cassette with BGMs in it. This concept has still not struck TFM while its very common in the west. While tfm apes west in so many ways they develop cold feet when it comes to such a release. For this the movie producer, audio company and the MD will have to take a bold step and have a go at it. The small bits of BGM what we hear in the movie can be put into extended longer versions and the CD can be full with music. Its my longing too to see such a release. Sure someone will try this concept very soon and lets see who cracks it first.

  The music was composed by Late.Chakravarthy. The hero is Nageswara Rao and the heroines - Sridevi and Jayasudha. The songs were a rage when they were released in Telugu (in early 80's) and the movie ran for more than a year.

  I got a MP-3 cd when I went to India-20 of IR's recent movies upto Ivann.
  The songs from Dharma and manam virumbudhe unnai are too good.when were these films released and who were the stars?
  Dharma-Iru kangal,sembaruthi,manakkum-fab songs.Must for SPB fans.
  MVU-thanga kili(what a peppy no-ranks with pudu mapillaikku-this is the first song nowadays to start my morning)),vanathil,elavenir
  Kadhal rojave-listen to ilavenil idhu-ranks among the best of SP-IR combination.also kalyana jodi by SPB.

  was hearing the song "Kaathirukku Maalii Maalii" from Mallu Veti Mainaar..... that's the *magical* song.... the song that makes anyone HAPPY upon hearing it.... makes u feel the happiness in the song.... the music would just be awesome..... i miss that *magical* touch in SMK.... agreed, they r good - but the *magical* stuff, hmm... i miss it.... we had that in AZHAGI (Paatu Solli)..... RAMANA too had the Vaanavilaey...... SMK does'nt have that kind....

  Watch it with the movie. When the prelude starts, there are very few souls who don't experience goose bumps. Can be compared with the prelude of 'andhi mazhai'

  SMK got released on 7th Nov, due to some problem in making prints....I am yet to hear the verdict for this movie.

  some unusual songs, but definitely IR. Just checked raajangahm.com, no mention at all of this movie.
  
  Ezhil Nilavey - great composition
  O Deva Deviye - good too.

  It seems there have been few fights and replacements for the movie "Manasellam" produced by Oscar Ravichandran. Now the plan is to release this movie as soon as possible, since the movies Ramana, En Mana Vanil which started later had been completed. The music is Ilaiyaraja.
