Guys,
We have talked about & analyzed so many Tamil Film Music songs, lyricists, singers etc...
Is there any "FORMULA" for a song to become HIT ?
That is, for a Patho, Melody or Duppaanguththu to become a "HIT" are there any RULES that we can formulate ?
For example :
- Most of the songs set in a particular raagaa (for certain mood) are hits,
- Songs sung by the singers (or duet combination)
- songs using specific Instruments (lead/percussion)
- songs set for a specific mood/situation
etc... etc...
With the vast knowledge/data warehouse we have in newtfmpage.COM, probably we can try to find the FORMULA, which could be used by the music directors, film directors and producers ;-))

Raghu, no problem, i am a software programmer :)
in java :
final static int PI = 3.14;
public double area(double radius)
{
try
{
return PI*radius*radius;
}
catch ( Exception e)
{
System.out.println("an error has occured");
}
}
Is that okay ? :)

Typo :
final double PI = 3.14;

Does this page have a mathematics section also. if so, I shall at once enroll :-)
I have been amused to see the different versions of the theorem of PYTHAGORAS.
Also raghu212, y = mx + c is the equation of a straight line ... but only as far as Euclidian geometry goes....as per Einsteinian maths, a staright line is also a curve.... :-)
My formula for a hit song - but bad words and trash into it!! It becomes an instant hit in north india atleast. Example the Bombay Boys song by Javed Jaffri.

Pras;
Nice one man, guess what I am also a Programmer, but Not in Java, But in C++ & SQL server 2000, here is my C++ script to find the area of a circle.
#include
#include
void main ()
{
const float pie =3.14;
float diameter ;
float area ;
cout <<”Please enter a value for diameter”<cin>>diameter
area:= diameter * pie
cout<<”The area of the circle is:”< return =0;
}
I am aware Java Scripts & C++ have similarities, can you help me with my Java scripts, please, my email Id is basha93@hotmail.com
thanks 4 your help!

oops small mistake, this is the correct code;
#include
#include
void main ()
{
const float pie =3.14;
float diameter ;
float area ;
cout <<” Please enter a value for diameter”<cin>>diameter
area:= diameter * pie
cout<<”The area of the circle is:”< return =0;
}

oops again it should be, it did not display it 4 some reason, when posted it!
#include
#Include
these two library headers are a must in any C++ scripts

Raghu :
Your C++ might be OK, but your mathematics is pathetic. :-)
Area of a circle = PI * sqr(diameter)/4
school-la orey thookkamA? :-)
- From: Pras (@ 193.56.241.19) on: Wed Jan 16 03:23:38 EST 2002
Ramanujan,
It should be :
area = PI * radius^2
Which is more simple than yours, but your formula is correct ...
And do you have any idea of algorithm to determine if a number is a prime number ?
definition : An integer p is called a prime number if the only positive integers
that divide p are 1 and p itself.

raghu, #include what?
Some possibilities for #include :-)
1. Loops from `english' CDs
2. tunes from english songs
3. tunes from old TF & HF songs (better if it's based on old MSV/IR stuff)
- From: Raghu (@ 212.2.14.241) on: Wed Jan 16 04:31:59 EST 2002
e ...a;
It should be
#include stdio.h
#include iostream.h
the stdio.h and iostream.h should be in a triangular brackets, but once I do put the triangular brackets & post it , it does not show it 4 some reason.
Ramanujan;
I post all these from work in a hurry, in case my boss finds out I am posting on forums, rather than working, I will be in trouble, hence I make mistakes, that's all, anyway the C++ script I wrote will find the circumference of circle, not the area, OK.

Hey buddy... none of us here are trying to say that v r perfect... and yes u r right in saying all do make mistakes!
but the point here is how long r v going to come up with excuses to nullify the mistake..! i made a mere suggestion that it would b better to verify what is to be posted prior to doing so.! if u check carefully, u had posted 4 more messages just to clarify u'r first message... besides don't get the idea that i'm trying to single u out!
