Minnale--Songs and BGM

With Minnale getting outstanding reviews from news papers and theatres having festival crowd of youngsters Harris can be proud of his songs and appropriate back round score....His hard work is evident every scene...People who have seen this film can comment here on the song sequences and BGM.

  Got a chance to hear all songs of minnalE yesterday (before that I heard only vaseegarA which is a very nice song).
  
  Few observations:
  
  1. HJ sounds like ARR (but for the promo, one would have mistaken this as an ARR album)and many other standard pop stars, vaseegara ending reminds me of careless whispers ending...only thing is that song was 15 years before.
  2. The lyrics are mostly unimpressive IMO (prose / pudhukkavidhai)
  3. azhagiya theeyE prelude tune is a straight lift from Boney M (byhama mama)
  4. Most songs have similarity with popular POP songs (which themselves have cross similarities, inspirations etc. and hence do not count much in my books) and one starts wondering whether this is Thamizh music at all (with pathetic tanglish lyrics)
  5. saranam tunes are better than ARR's who usually collects great pallavi tunes but sothaps in saranams
  6. For that matter most are bit songs and no saranams at all (like ad jingles) which is a big relief
  
  Other than vaseegara, all others are pain on the ears and force one to look for an alternate cassette to reset:-) (I did it with IR's tabla hits like thenpANdiththamizhE).
  
  Forgettable album. HJ competition to ARR? Nop. Such clones will vane fast.

  I like very much Minnale. Story is diffrent, but it can happen in real life. All are real in this film, it dosent has masala fight,...Afer this film i am keen on Mathavan.
