IR's new albums!

  sabesan :-). unlike many people, i never develop a liking for ARR songs if i didn't like them on the first hearing. some (very small in number) IR, MSV songs and grahan, i liked after listening to them for a couple of time.

  sabesan, I guess you are trying to comment. But to me I was in the heaven while I was hearing the songs.
  I heared the song once, played 'em again, again and again even while posting this. The songs are so melodious.

  Except the Vadivel Comedy #, I think all the songs have instantaneously grown on me..( still would have preffered SPB/IR for the Rottorum song .. KJY sounds a little off/aged..)
  
  Unnai thedi by IR is great -- thought has some shades of "Oorurangum nearthail " from Kanna Unnai Thedukiren ?
  
  Muthu Muthu Songs is a great foot tapping # - The Chorus sounds cool.

  I liked most of the 'en manavaanil songs'...esp, the interludes of 'unnaithedi' and 'kuthu kuthu'(listen to thye flute..man!!!!!)...the KJY song has a lot of depth(lesa izhaiyodura sogam nalla theriyuthu...)..."unnai kaanum pothu" sounds like 'odd man out' as aruL said it is very very YSR-ish and that doesn't impress me at all..."Muthu Muthu" is really a feet-tapping number...I think this is the song which will have max. Mass appeal....Vayasu Vantha is a typical IR song...Swarnalatha could have rendered it better(unnecessary stresses in words like "kerkaRRRRRRRiya" is irritating")
  
  Over-all it is very good album but I seriously doubt whether these songs will b'com pupular...almums like "Ilayavan","Kanna unai thedugiren","THodarum" were of the similar calibre but went unnoticed...I wouldn't be surprised if the samething happens to this too

  Though songs sound great, Somehow I did not like Sadhana Sargam singing the first song. She seems to struggle at high pitch. IR should try to bring back Chitra or swarnalatha here.

  Fliflo - what surprised me was the award to SS for her "paatu cholli" song.... the tune was excellant..... i think *someone* in the JURY thought that "wow good song, lets give the award to the person who sang it"..... well, she did do good job on that song, iam not going to take the credit away..... but was it worth an award ?

  Sadhana's thamizh uchcharippu has improved quiete a bit I guess(but definitely far from perfection)....Just listen to "Ratchagan" and "en mana vaanil" u'll see the difference...But definitely I wud have preferred KSC

  Ram..true...I enjoyed Kasi, Azhagi and other albums too. However, the songs like Rottoram is typical of 80-90 IR..Konjam unarchi vasappatutten. Just 1 listening is more than enough to like it.

  I tolerate all the crap in tfmpage to get news about the latest IR albums. So far, only ivann seemed to make it worth it (to some extent only) ..dEvan and this album disappoint me. In all these albums (thalaattum kARRE, vayasu vantha (annakkiLi song?)) ) , either the tune or musical phrases seem to be old..there is a lack of freshness or sound 'jaded'. But in dEvan, Ezhai geetham, was masterpiece (is there a replacement for KJY ? then that singer would have done a better job than our Maestro himself)..I even think sexy bomb song is a good commercial #..this album does not have any consolation like those !!! (kannA unai thEdugiRen had good popular melodies..but lost out in the market..maybe that is the reason IR is not encouraged).

  hihi ..enna veruppEththaatheenga ..the IR who gave popular hits like azhagu aayiram..classics like paadariyen padippariyen ..modern hits like ninaivellam nithya is missing in this album..but he does show his face in Ezhai geetham where the piano transitions to a guitar and then a a bass guitar in the beginning. Something is bothering the Maestro he is not his natural, fluent self..

  kiru: uright! the flow is inhibited. no new ideas, no care for just daring even nonsense. very nonchalant effort like senseless. are we all sure that IR is indeed composing for another 15 films this year? En Manam Vaanathil eri poguthey saar? I am just using one of the poorer efforts like dharma, or unnoticed ones like manam virumbudhey unnai or even desiya geetham, which also went unnoticed. is that why the Maestro does not seem to care to waste his tunes? I mean, I will revisit this album after another worser one comes out from Raja and then the earlier one makes sense. that is happening last 3 or 4 years....

  kiru, it's good to see tat there is at least one honest IR Fan here. A breath of fresh air among the jalralah cases u often see in this thread.

  sabesan, in which thread was anyone listening to the album for so many times jus to like the album? I'm surprised. Can u be more specific? I'm jus curious...If u cant show me, I take it tat tis is another hallucination case which fans like u often get to suffer from.

  I have not listened to IMV. But, I see from the reactions that it is not the great one. Now all those craps who posted nasty things in Baba thread, will they listen this and post their review? I am saying this because, they have not listened to Baba before posting there. So atleast be honest to your master. As for me...I don't have any fasination to try and listen a supposed crap.
