guys, please can you clarify if the song "Ninnai Charan" ( Ilayaraja version ) sounded like P.B.Sreenivas voice. One of my friend refused to believe that it was sung by ilairaja. He says in the Bharathy CD, may be PBS sang the song. It's a question of morality. I respect my friend's authenticity in identifying the old singers and old songs as he grew up with old singers like PBS and etc., He claims that the initial humming could be ilayaraja but not the whole song. But it's been very difficult for me to take it that IR could do such a trick just to market his album.
After that discussion, it really convinced me that IR didnot sing in his usual style but just more like PBS. Please get me right that I am an ardent fan of IR.

"marugo marugo" starting music was very similar to a piece I heard in Classical music channel in Radio. The same goes with "Kaadhal Oviyam"(AO) second interlude which was from initial part of an Opera song.I will try to unearth few more and provide you shortly when I get some free time.
Yeah, IR copied some opera from the west, and then the idiot that he is, picked the song as one of his 10 best works, and asked Raajangahm to send it out to people here -- so that artistes here realize what a copycat and moron he is!

Dis_is_Da_Post ,
Nobody here thinks IR is a copycat or moron. It is quite natural for any musical composer to be inspired by a particular piece and then consciously or unconsciously that comes out in their creative flow.
Still I would consider "kaadhal oviyam" one of his excellent songs.

relationship between maestro and symphony is simple. maestro "composed" symphony.

"maestro" title is given to person who has composed sumphony and the symphony should have be played by a philharmonic atleast once in front of an audience.

"Maestro" = Plural form of "Masthry", or a person who powerfully constructs music as if many skilled laborers are working on it.

"Maestro" is a word that evolved from the Italian language which means "Master". Great musicians in the West are addressed with Maestro to indicate that he is a master in music. For females, the word "Maestra" is used.
- From: Good_translation (@ 216.160.135.205)
on: Mon Oct 30 22:54:02 EST 2000
By the way, the title is not "Mastero". It is "Maestro" and should be spelt as "May-ees-throw" and for "Maestra" is "May-ees-thra".
I hope this helps.

In www.thesaurus.com I got the explanation of "Maestro" given below immediately. I wonder how "bb" got such an ridiculous explanation for such a great word! Maybe, he was just waiting to insult Maestro Ilayaraaja somehow!

maesˇtro (mstr)
n., pl. maesˇtros or maesˇtri (-tr).
A master in an art, especially a composer, conductor, or music teacher.

UV!
What's your purpose of `removing' a so called title? If someone had given, it's up to them to remove and it's not our role. If no one had given but everyone calls him like that out of appreciation (not just for the Symphony No 1 which has been proved to exist and acknowledged by Vikatan & Subbudu, but for his other works) -cricket fans call Gavaskar Little master and some times even the newspapers used to refer him `maestro' those days - once again it's not within your or my realm to remove such reference.
One can understand your frustration in not being able to listen to the symphony, but I feel even without that it's worth calling him a master or legend:-)

I think slowly this forum on IR is being stale and stereotype. We can even drop this forum and put them in archive.
Instead we can continue under Analysis of IR work as that sound more appropriate.
Because nowadays no of movies IR scores is very low down to 1 or 2 in a year.
And most of them are like by a few hardcore IR fans like us but not the whole public in general.
Nor his songs come in top 10 very rarely.
TFM website is an exception ,in most of the site i dont see any of his songs in top 10.
So the best will be drop this topic and put it in archive and discuss under IR analysis
What do u say?
