I was asking my friends about the film bharathi. Here I do 'cut and paste'of the message which I received from JP,IIT Madars:
Dear J,
At first, seeing some posters on Madras roads about Bharathi, I thought someone has ruined the great life of the poet on the name of making a movie.
For, I beleived such lives could be handled
only by people like Attenbourough, Shyam benegal..
Ofcourse, really the movee is not of that standard, but not bad.
"Mayil pola ponnu onnu" pattu padamakkappatta vitham unakku mikavum pidikkum. Pattum arpudham.

I just had the same feeling after I watched the movie on video last night. There is feeling of discontinuity in the movie. Innum konjam panni irukallam endra feeling......
Hats off to the BGM. If anyone get's a chance to watch the movie, note the "Shanthi muhoortham" scene when Deivyanai comes in to see Bharathi and the music that flows.

Swami:
Many thanks for uploading the "Idhayathai Thirudathe" BGMS. The first clip is wonderful. Folks: Why are you guys are asking for IR's Symphony ? The first piece itself is a symphony for piano and violin with other violins and chellos providing the backdrop. As far as I can tell it is as good as any Western composers' compositions, in my experience of listening to Bach, Chopin, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Rachminoff, Handel, Hayden.. Just listen and compare ! I am just reminded of the proverb, "Kayyil Vennaiyai Vaiththukkondu Neyyiukku Yehn Alayarangha?"
IMO, IR has reached or even exceeded the pinnacle of music like any other composer on this planet! Just makes me feel soooo good that a Tamilian could do such classical master pieces !

digression:
The general statement that `IR is no longer the preferred artiste by TF producers' is not 100% true, IMO. 'cause even now companies like PA art (the introducer of Raja to TFM) have not changed over to ARR or other mediocre MDs while keep coming to IR. It is probably IR who refuses to such offers (may be telling them to use KR/YSR)...a quote to this effect (by Prasad Gopal or one Rajangahm person) was also posted in some thread...

Any confirmation on whether the Appachan 3D movie (multilingual) is entrusted to the maestro?

For those who are lamenting there is no IR for movie for Diwali etc.. What is your point ?
IR has achieved so much in music I doubt that anybody else will be able to match him in terms of musical ideas, output and entertainment value.
Let people make money or score any number of movies. It does not affect IR's contribution or his worth in any way. So have no regrets !!!

Now what the heck does the question you have posted here mean? Is Eden an accountant who knows how much money each of these producers has, and let you know whether they can or cannot pay somebody's salary? If Eden says yes, can you dispute what he is saying or do you have any means to confirm his answer?
Every anti IR thread in this forum has seen your contributions in one way or the other -- Realize this : Bashing IR is *not* the way to glorify ARR. Whenever someone makes a pro IR statement, there is absolutely no need for you to intervene and object.
Neenga IR copy adicha pattu ellam kettadhe illaya?
Copied songsnnu oru thread irukku.Ungallukku konjam avakasam kedaichudhunna athile konjam paarunga
IR goes one step ahead by copying specifically from Mozart,Beethoven.
Can you name three songs that IR copied "specifically" from Mozart and Beethoven (what the heck is the specifically doing here anyway?)
Think before you post something. Right from being the only person in the whole world to believe Kumudam's Bharathy Oscar news, to the gibberish that you post each day in this forum - only serve to reinforce the impression that you just dont pause to consider your posts! And with the dat, da , dis crowd you make a lethal combination :(

Dis_is_Da_Post,
It is nice to see you have solid backing here.Whether you deserve it or not I will just give you my dispassionate response.I'm aware how dignified this thread is so,I'm surely not going to counter this heck/heckler(whatever you guys think I am).
"Can Panchu Arunchalam pay ARR's fees?"
What I meant by this question was when Panchu Arunachalam(PA) starts a movie his budget for music production is usually less.Somebody pointed out somewhere that IR is content in accepting a low sum of money from PA for whatever reason(probably IR's big heart for repaying someone who gave him wonderful opportunities). What ARR charges for a movie I would consider to be atleast 4 times higher than what IR gets from PA.
My point is though PA may give out a much better film with IR's music if he thinks "let me try ARR" he naturally wouldn't get ARR for the money he usually pays for music production.
So, PA not going for ARR may be a monetary thing.
Coming to the next point,I clearly understand bashing IR is not the way to glorify ARR.When some people make baseless unqualified statements like "IR is the God of music" and "he is the only one who has reached the pinnacle of music", etc I point out(sometimes sarcastically) that these statements doesn't have solid base so that we can have constructive arguments.
There have been lot of pro-IR statements which had good base and I quietly accepted them.
"marugo marugo" starting music was very similar to a piece I heard in Classical music channel in Radio. The same goes with "Kaadhal Oviyam"(AO) second interlude which was from initial part of an Opera song.I will try to unearth few more and provide you shortly when I get some free time.
Most of the pro-IR statements are biased. One of them was telling me if "Kanne Kalaimaane" is not one of your fav song you are not a real fan of IR.
I told that person "poongatru" from that same movie is one of my favs but he didn't seem to agree. Is this not a bias on the part of a IR fan trying to influence my taste?
On Bharathy news,I later realized that I would be the only stupid person on earth to believe such a news from "kumudam".Thanks for pointing that out.
I will try to be more careful in the future.
I don't care if someone uses "dat, da , dis".It doesn't influence me to think about their content to be more valid or less valid.
Logic king and Trend Setter,
Thanks for making this thread more exciting.

as an HCIRF,there are a few things i thought I will write a few things-
As to all the arguments as to him not being given enough recognition and publicity in tamilnadu-I think it is not a fair statement. As an ardent IR fan, when IR phenomenon was happening in tamilnadu, you cannot escape from ths man's face in any book you opened in 80's and early 90's.This was before the advent of all the cable channels which,I would say, contribute almost 75 percent of hype about ARR's music. He was feted, awarded ,had his face on posters, his portraits sold in roadside shops-you name it he had it.I think compared to the equally groudbreaking MSV,he had better exposure.when MSV's fans dont bemoan this fact ,why should we?we know his true worth-He is worth a hundred of Today's gales and tornadoes. He is like a ocean(I specifically remember Filmfare's review of his Kamaagni in hindi which mentions about his 'oceanic talents')deep and silent.
In his heyday, he mixed with famous names from the west like Paul mauriat (who even visited him at madras), composed a symphony (which for reasons known only to higher mortals is still to see the light of the day-and to be honest dont believe all that rubbish that it was not according to the grammar of symphony-one thing about the symphonic pieces is that lets you do whatever you want-Beethoven even added a choral piece for his ninth symphoy, and one of mozart's symphony has a piece wich sounds like a concerto rather than a symphony-you can do anyhing in this form of music)and RPO would not have gone to all the troble of recording it if they thought it was not upto the mark.
you can find two faults with an experienced artiste-one is not sounding modern- and the second is burnout.while you can fault Raaja for not sounding 'modern'you cannot fault him for burnout-just listen to Barathy's music-Is this the work of a burnt out artiste?
If recognition from west is what we are looking at,it just shows our Adimai manapanmai.we dont need an outsider to tell us about our man's true worth.Incidentally ,all the names ARR's fans are crowing about-webber,michael jackson, steven segal etc-do they realise that they are all 'havebeens',who have had their days in the limelight and looking for something to keep them in the limelight?
more later.
