IR's new albums!

  Bharath: Kaun Dagar was in 3 places: the opening prelude, pallavi at onset of first incident with Mahima, then a portion of the second interlude and the charanam at onset of the Madhuri scenes, then the final interlude and charanam at the Rekha scene, if i remember right... the song was like background music and that was intelligent rather than have the main protagonist koirala sing it! The movie is worth owning for repeat viewing for the brilliant acting, characters (except for a comedian and comic scene that seemed out of place totally) and of course for the music, which may have seemed a little too good for even the best of Indian films. Only i want to know if there was any closing credits, my 'duplicate' dvd does not have it.
  
  Again, two ironies after watching the movie on Sept 10 evening. I switched on the news and there is the story of a woman who gave birth to four girl children (quartuplets!) and I was thinking what an irony. I mean this happened in Punjab or Tamilnad and more nothern states, this is what Lajja is all about. How relevant the movie is even today is when you hear of the high female to male ratio (1060 to 1000) in Kerala and the very low ration in PUnjab (910 to 1000 or soemthing) and the great many infanticides all over northern Indian including our own Tamilnadu of girl children!!
  
  Second irony, the next morning I just look at the news and suddenly The World Trade Towers are brought down. This skyline was the beautiful backdrop of the opening scene of Lajja and you had IR give such a majestic score to match the grandeur of the erstwhile skyline of New York.
  
  What a life, man! We need peace, understanding, respect and compassion in this world. Lajja could not have been more on the dot in its showing.

  The story doesn't seems to have anything new. Ppl now, know the ending of the movie also. Its just a action movie, whether Vijaykanth and AP, hit each other. Probably, one more on the masala list, and thats it. IR doesn't have much to make a mark, unless, if the director, stuff some unwanted duets,dance numbers and so on. I really don't have good hopes about the movie.

  The above URL is about the novel release function of lyricist Vyramuthu. Kalaignar Karunathi and director Bharathi Raja took part in the function and spoke about the novel.
  
  When BR spoke he says like this...
  
  "I cried 3 times after reading this epic. As a person belonged to this area my life is presented here. This belongs to me. Vairamuthu lived beyond his age. He was given birth to this place. Only he can write like this.
  
  Only I can bring this in celluloid. Also it can be only Ilaiyaraja, who is blood and flesh of this area, can score music for this film. This belongs to only three of us and I will this a movie."

  Dharma was the last Vijaykanth movie for which IR scored music and that had very good songs. 'Iru kangal thoongaathu' is a beautiful number. All songs are good. Yes, masala movie does not have good scope for BGM.

  Hi All,
  
  Yesterday (15th) I happen to see PANDAVAS on Cartoon Network. Looks like i missed one part which was telecasted last Saturday at 9pm. It will continue in the next episode which will be telecast next Saturday at 9pm. Even yesterday I could see only 20 minutes.
  
  The BGM is really good. The recording quality is also very good. Looks like there was lot of scope for BGM in this movie. IR has really done a very good job. The scenes where pandavas show dhuri (that's what they call Duriyodanan in the movie :-)) their new palace, IR has lifted those scenes with good BGM. Do not miss the next one on 22nd at 9pm.
  
  I really feel the BGM should be released as a seperate cassette/CD. What happened to the songs? There were supposed to be some songs in the movie. Was there any audio cassette/CD released?
  
  Have anyone seen the movie when it was released in the theatre?

  UVII, on Indian Cartoon Network. I am in Bangalore and I watched it. They are also telecasting SINDBAD (again by Pentamedia) at 9:30 for half an hour. They are telecasting both the movies as half an hour episodes.

  Caught up with Valli yesterday in Sun TV. Simply brilliant music by IR. Every song was so relevantly composed...man, wish IR gets to do a A class commercial project again, soon and not those assembly line movies starring Ranjith and non-starters or those arty small budget (albeit meaningful and sensitive) films like Kutty.

  I got a cassette called 'NaaLai' - released by Tips.,
  
  The album has two music dirctors, One is Karthik Raja and I forgot the other guys' name :-(
  
  Songs are quite good - They don't say who composed what., But there is one wonderful solo melody sung by SPB ('En Anbe Anbee..') - I guess KR is the MD for this song, Couldn't confirm :-(
  
  Anybody has any information on this cassette ? What I want to know is how many songs KR composed for this movie and what are they ?
