  Another abservation about UlagamE is that IR has used mostly male voice/chorus while expressing the anguish and aggressive mood (appropriately so, as it's for the hero) but as the pallavi towards the end tends to change into a rather pacifying and gentle mood it is sung by the female chorus in a slightly lower tone. I feel this choice of the male/female voice/chorus to convey different moods/emotions to be very right and effective making the end awesome (hihi:-)). I found some of the words to be hard hitting and inspiring.
  
  Another IR song that I found inspiring in recent years was Undhan raajiyaththil from ANdhAn adimai.
  
  In general, almost all full fledged songs in Ivann have a some unusual moments in their interludes and/or charaNams'.

  After several years, Ivan is a complete album from our Maestro. Each and every song either good or very good or extraordinary. Every song has something new in it. And also, it looks like Karthik Raja has played a role in a couple of songs like, Dhoolu Podu,Mel Topula, and Appadee Pakradhuna. We can see shades of Dum Dumm Dumm in all of these 3 songs at few places.
  I'm really finding it difficult to decide on which one i like the most, Kannan or Ulagame. Both are extraordinary. Even after several listenings, i'm unable to discover all the beauty of these 2 songs.
  I think, it'll be too hard to discuss all these songs together. So, people are interested, we can take one at a time and do a complete analysis.

  the song " Vaanam keezhe" is fantastic . starting tune sounds majestic and it takes us to a different world...... this song should be in IR's top ten....

  If I may answer on behalf of Jag,that info was on Eenadu news paper when that movie was announced. Since Eenadu does not maintain archives, there is no way to look at it now.
  It's bad to see many of IR's movies planned in telugu being stalled.. Sabhash, Balakrishna's film, Vamsy's Love in Ramoji film city, Abhishek etc.
  Insider info tells me that Vamsy was forced to take Chakri as music director of Avunu Vallidaru Istapaddaru. That film's audio is releaed, and songs sound exactly like Ilayaraja songs (see review at http://www.telugucinema.com/audio/reviews/avi.html)
  Now, the question is, if they wanted songs to sound like Ilayaraja's songs, why didn't they opt for Ilayaraja?.. Too many politics.
  Vamsy seems to be all set to make this film a hit, gain back his market so that he can demand producers to take IR this time

  Thanks for the info. I'll dig out more info on this somehow. And I was pleasantly surprised and happy and relieved when finally Vamsi changed from his self-music-composing mode to the IR mode. But as you said all the four Telugu movies with music by IR have been stalled for some reason god only knows.
  
  My guess on why they opted for Chakri for AVI is probably because it was low-budgeted movie and the producer couldn't afford IR. But as you said, politics might have played the major role.

  According to Vamsy's interview in a telugu website niharonline, some time back, the only reason he started composing music is that he was not willing to work with any other MD other than IR and his small time producers were not in a position to afford him.
  The producer of AVI is Aanandi Arts, infact they did Antahpuram with IR. Not sure what made them force Chakri on Vamsy.. again.. too many politics..

  The news about Sunil's movie comes in news section of idlebrain.com too, but without any mention of IR. Balakrishna's movie will be revived soon according to telugucinema.com. If Vamsi's movie AVI is hit, his love in ramoji film city will be revived too.
  Let's hope for music's sake these things happen.

  trivia: In Ennenno varnaalu duet by SPB, Kousalya from AVI, Chakri has used a bit of KaNNA varuvAyA Meera KEtkirAL. Anyway, Chakri has come up with some decent songs for a Vamsy movie. And lyrics on the whole are different as in any other Vamsy movie and much better when compared to the current standards.

  I guess out of all the craps that are churned out by MDs, Ivan and Kadhal Saadhi is very refreshing.
  Manase Manase, Kaatre, Enna Maranthalum, Kanni Mara koilile are very good numbers. Ivan is already making big waves. IR.. IRdhan. None can match him.

  Namma Preethiya Ramu (our dear Ramu) is the remake of Kasi in Kannada with some modifications to the screenplay. The film is produced by Nandakumar. The title role is donned by Darshan who has worked very hard to look like a blind person.
  
  The songs are by Kalyan (Raja was impressed with the lyrics of one song written by the co-producer, that he insisted on retaining that song for the film). Source - Vijaya Karnataka (newspaper) dated 2nd August.
  
  Surely Raja will re-create the same magic in this film too.

  I read somewhere that Vinayan is going to direct his next venture with Vadivelu as hero, acting as a leprosy patient. IR is doing music for this? Somebody please tell me.

  I don't understand this Vinayan's 'handicap' fixation and making melodramas out of their plight. First in Kasi he had a blind man as hero and a heroine who couldn't speak. It also had miscellaneous handicap characters.. Remember Vinu Chakravarthy playing the paralysed father of the blind hero? And a 'noNdi' hotel servant, played by Charlie?
  Now 'En Mana vAnil' has both the hero and heroine as deaf & dumb, with other characters with some form of handicap or the other (Vadivelu plays a hunchback).
  Next in line is Vadivelu as hero playing a leper's role! What next Mr. Vinayan?
