  Digression:

  Any entity gives an account of its self or any other entity by its external interaction.That account of the external interaction becomes more profound(more correct) as we go deeper.
  
  So when you ask milk about salt it is a very superficial account of the salt.May be it pretends it knows about salt giving the above view.But when you ask an entity about itself/himself it is aware(in most cases) it can find out find out more about itself(important factor is self-interest or introspection).So it does not want to distort its own self and thereby says "I don't know".
  
  So, there is no way his statement(assuming it has a profound meaning)can be intepreted at a level less profound than what it is.Trying to do that is a disservice.
  
  So, my point is either I didn't understand your profoundly rich interpretation properly or else your intepretation could be invalid.
  
  What we can do is let his statements be understood by those who profoundly deserve it.

  IR was pissed in that interview but he was coherent IMHO.
  (Trend, I think you wanted to say what MS said :) but I will not force my opinion on others. I will leave it to make up your mind about IR and his music).

  Thats a nice interview with YSR. He is not willing to accept ARR as #1 :) I appreciate his confidence. I also liked IR's attitude and he seems to be a real cool person than the media makes it out to be.

  I was ticked off by the last question. How could a reporter ask such a silly question to him? I guess Raaja and the media people were ticked off. I don't have to explain how bad he should have felt at that time and I don't want to see Ilaiyaraaja in that situation anymore. Its better don't participate this kind of press release.   Trend, I must confess I did not understand what you wrote..Maybe you yourself have an explanation for that :)
  Analog, I think the reporter's questions had some preconceived ideas (like IR is old, past generation etc) this probably is one reason IR got pissed from the beginning.

  It is just that I don't possess the capability to make comments with effortless ease the way kiru does.His comments about ARR like "hiding behind technology" or "western popish kind of composer"(just to name two) has led me to regard his musical knowledge and his deep insight in high esteem.
  
  I see this clearly lacking in me.So,I always look up to him and try to learn from him.

  Hold on..Trend..I am not that stupid to fall for your 'vanjappugazhchchi'. If people just went by what is written/asked a bunch of androids could simulate a human society. It is what we 'read between the lines' that differentiates us from the machines. If you read that interview carefully you know there are some pre-conceived ideas in the reporter's mind or atleast that is what I think which IR perceived and got angry.
  BTW, I did not say 'ARR is hiding behind technology'. I only asked can IR give a response like that :)
  Re: 'western popish kind of composer' .. I did not say it either.. It is ARR who said he is not interested in composing Symphony etc because he is into POP, World Music !!! Dont ask me to quote the interview. I really dont have time for that sleuthing work.

  The point is: please refrain from making statements in the guise of what IR thinks about ARR.
  
  I agree the interview was stupid and baseless and IR surely didn't deserve being asked those questions.But don't try to give it a quantified degree by saying something like 'this is as impossible as x,y or z' in the sensitive realm of events.
  
  I have seen your posting where you said something like "ARR is mainly a pop composer because blah...blah...blah..." without considering his considerable amount of contributions whereas he has explored other genres.I too don't have time for searching where and when you posted that b'cos I'm going home.
