Kovil by HJ

Saw the trailor this morning of KOVIL...first impression , for a change the songs sounded genuinely folkish..but none of them were catchy hearing the first time .May be once the full version comes out it would be differrent. Any idea when the songs are gonna be releasing?

  This weeks pol "best album of the year 2003" is created for the ARR fans and its a crap. they have given 3 super hit album of HJ, 2YSR, 2 VS, 2 IR albums and with that they have given BOYS to vote.. only 1 arr album. in that way al other md fan's vote is going to be split accordint to their own taste and all arr fans vote will go to boys.
  
  Y didnt they include KKS, E20U18, Parasuram and udhaya in that list?? because they want all arr fans to vote to boys and dont want it to be split. check out

  Nothing great, the Collegiku poovam song is pretty nice, all others are average.

  I was thinking that the collegeikku song sounded familiar, but couldnt pin point to which song. S indeed it is a lift i suppose, not fully but partially, like all HJ lifts.
  Infact even the music that is played in the trailer is a mixture of his products from lesa lesa, 12b.

  Actually Hari had something different as climax...but as he is bidding for Rajni's movie...he got to show..how stupid he can be..that's the specific criteria to direct a Rajni's movie...rite
  
  or else...why would Suresh Krishna after the brilliant Aalavandhaan ..did Baba with Volley Ball spinning againts Physics Law, how could a shoe fly from feet, hit the head and back to feet, a japanese is DYING coz of Rasam and Sambhar!(it's the highest position anyone can think of...if u say diarhea or fever...still acceptable), on top of them all...a man lying on the ground with fire set all around him..and he ROSE FROM ASHES!! not even with a small burn on his shirt!!!..

  disagree! ... directors usually get away with watv stupidity done on the screen in a Rajni film coz not many ppl care abt it...larger than life character ithellam pannina thaan rasippanga...but u cant just say all the directors who worked with Rajni are stupids...there werent that many flaws in Baasha or Padayappa for that matter...mayb u cud bring them up...

  ayya, antha padam paarthu nonthu poittaenya naan! ... im not taking any credit away from Kamal for his perfomance, but oru padam muzhukka Raveena chiththi-nu nenachu thorathittae irupparu, kadaisi scene-la avunga amma vanthu "kanna athu un chiththi illai da" appadinu solluvaanga!! ... ennangada film kaatreenga?! :-) ... even this film had a scene in which Nandhu (in a Lorry) wud chase the other Kamal (in a car)...Lorry-ku super pick up, semma accelaration, highly efficient lorry! :-)
  
  that was IMO....ungalukku antha padathula appadi enna impressive-a irunthucho theriyala!...enakkum puriya veyyunga, lemme see if i'll like Alavandhan! :-)

  The songs are not HJ best. Its like he doesnt worked hard enough with composing the songs. The reviews of the movies indicates that director hari should not direct Rajni movie, he is a roookie. Directors like Shnkar, Bala, Cheran should get the opportunity.

  Review
  Unending caste discrimination surrounds Puliangulam and Vepangulam villages to such an extent that small incidents lead to shedding of blood to very large extents. Under such circumstances, Sakthivel (Simbu), son of Puliangulam Periyasamy (Raj Kiran), falls in love with Angel Devi (Sonia Agarwal), daughter of Vepangulam Soosai (Nazar). As Soosai comes to know of the issue and that his daughter is also in love with Sakthivel, he opposes the affair and decides to send Angel to a convent to become a Nun. Unable to disobey her father’s words, Angel decides to let go her love and become a nun. She does not change her mind, even after everyone comes to know the truth that she is not Soosai’s real daughter. Just as arrangements are made for the final procedures for her to become a nun, there comes an opposition following which the story tells whether the two lovers unite.
  
  Silambarasan sans his usual mannerisms fits the college student role. Hari has brought out somewhat a natural performance from Simbu. But he will have to improve a lot by way of performance. Sonia Agarwal though looks matured is at ease as a soft-spoken Angel who comes from a staunch Christian family. Vadivel brings in some lighter moments. Nazar, Rajkiran, Rekha, Akash are sufficient. Hari’s commencing the movie with the very beginning scene of religious misunderstanding between two sects of people arouses interest. But as the movie proceeds, the screenplay is unpredictably inconsistent and consistently predictable. Dialogues are good at times, but they are only useful in making the things more melodramatic. And as a director, Hari does not live up to the very high standards he set for himself in Saami. Harris Jayaraj is a big disappointment. The music is a rehash of his earlier films KK and Saami. Priyan’s camera work and Peter Haynes stunts are average.

  I just saw the movie in Melbourne today,
  must say that the music much
  better to listen to than to watch it on screen.
  
  I liked the bit song "vepangkulattu kiliye" or something like that comes throughout the movie, what do you say about the flute theme that is played througout the film(it comes during the title credits and also when Simbu follows Sonia for the first time to give her the flower, it has shades of a track I've heard before.
