well popularity wise ...DEVA's far ahead of
anyone in TAMIL music ..he scores more movies
than anyone ...when u talk about popularity
then this peice of garbage should goto DEVA..
just by composing some COPIED tunes for some
BIG directors and have all the commercial
ppl doesnt show that u have QUALITY..
u can have commercial SUCESS but u cant acheive
or anyone can claim on ur behalf that u are
the greatest MD in india ever born....
yeah PPL tell that A.R.R is a great musician
as he's reached bounderies like tamil music
to cater to the needs of a national audience
what taste does our NATIONAL audience has ..
except for malayalam and bengali and to some
extent TAMIL ppl ...
northies like nothing other than garbage ..
their movies are nothign but MARRAIGES and
PUNJABI music ....
and when u cater to these tasteless audince
u become a hit ........
and by doing so ..u become the greatest MD
ever in INDIA........
this sucks ..

Hi, I'm new here. I wanted to post comments on Parthale Paravasam songs but when I came here, I notice that most of the comments were not abt PP songs but on how great ARR, Deva and IR is:D Let's just leave the arguments on how great these music directors really are.Anyway, back to the point. I just listened to PP songs and they were a letdown, yes.
When I first heard that ARR is the music composer, I expected something like Duet but the songs doesn't seem to make it's mark here. Well, I think one of the reason could well be the lyrics. The title songs has some really crude lines. Something like "Tamil nathil thani panjam, thaniyage kulithal tanjam, onnage kulike varuvaya?" hahaha...that was some line, huh?

This is a PP review board alrit!! but some ppl have instigated this ARR-IR thing and its kinda interesting to keep it going. So Mr.Ya man is a guy who has an 'Absolutely mature' taste in music and most of the ppl in India are fools...and have a crappy taste!! Not everyone has the time to get to know abot actual music or ragas or stuff...All they need is some music that can help lighten up their moods. As a MD u got to compose in a way to reach more ppl and get ppl to least care abot Music to listen to their songs..Its not a question of how mature ur composition is, its abot how many ppl U drag and get to listen to ur songs. Now IR is a GREATTTTT MD no regrets abot that..afterall he was the ruler for almost 2 decades..but I feel ARR's music has crossed more borders than IRs.Both of them or unique in their own ways but as far as reach is concerned its ARR..Maybe IRs music is more mature as in Ragas and stuff..but ARR music seems to have appealed more ppl..This is FILM MUSIC..Music for the normal ppl not any Kutchery!!! And yes Deva is mre popular amongst the local Tamil folks in TN for his style of Music but wat abt the rest of the world?? Andrew Webber approached ARR after his Dil Se album..Y wasn't he taken by the music of other MDs..its not that ARR cannot produce mature stuff. What abot "NARUMUGAIYE" song in Iruvar?? ppl still listen to it..its not a a usual Song full of beats that is just popular for sometime!! He gives Music as per the demand. and he himself has accepted that his songs were a bit stereotype and shall try to give variety and Lagaan is one such thing!! Sooo..these r my views..leave ur IR bias for a while and think!!!

Dear truth,
we are not forcing ourselves to like his songs after repeated hearing by predetermining our mindsets. It has been past experience, the days when I hadn't bothered declaring myself an ARR fan, that I chucked aside his songs initially but slowly started liking them on listening to them subsequently. I never conned myself into liking them.
Let's face it, it's very rare for even the best MDs to come up wit an album with all hits (except maybe Rhythm), but ARR has a higher % of his songs becoming hits. It's not a surprise. Take Madonna's or Janet Jackson or Mariah Carey. Some of their songs turn into instant hits while some, several months after the release of their album will eventually be topping the charts. But u may have heard the songs on radio long before. It's simply about seasoning. The same can be said of many IR classics too. Though his stubborn fans may continue ranting for all its worth, not realizing that perhaps they are in the wrong thread.
Having said that, I finally had the privilege of hearing PP songs last night! It is a box of chocolates, as far as I'm concerned. I liked about 5 of the 9 songs instantly and 2 others on listening to them the second time. They appeal to my Aquarian need for the unexpected. The way the songs morph before ending is a pleasant surprise. I now understand what Disappointment said about musical arrangements. I don't know if it was done deliberately but it gives the songs a certain raw edge that makes it different.
But I don't expect everyone to like the album, it won't surprise me at all in fact. I know for instance, my personal fave, Nadhir Dinha will make my dad go beserk. But he will still like songs like Azhage Sugama, etc.
And going back to predetermined mindsets, truth, maybe its the IR fans who determine themselves never to like a ARR song. SO next time u hear his songs, plug ur ears wit some cotton and u can remain the frog in the well forever. And keep ranting and compaining, so maybe one day, the million of ARR fans may actually listen to u and change their minds. It's always ok to aim high. Though one would have thought aims are to better oneself, not to belittle another.

PP, at very first listening, isn't that impressive although it can be otherwise upon repeated hearings. But one thing for sure is that this album does not carry some meaningful changes to the industry as done by DUET (classical sax). Anyway, best of luck KB^ARR combo. Its still politically strange to see VM as the lyricist tough 'Valiban' Vaali is there this time.

i hope kb intervenes and brings life to the pp songs by asking spb to sing some of the melodies.duet was a classical album not only because of arr, but also of spb.

SUMAAR ALBUM, ARR running out of ideas....songs sound familiar.
neethaane - similar to sangamam song "Varaha nathikarai oram".
moondralettu - some spanish/arabic song, with melody similar to the traditional villupaatu song.
love check - what to say...song simply sucks
Nathir Thanna - again entha spanish songooo, with pathetic singing.

I don't know how many of u have noticed this difference, but to appreciate the full value of ARR songs try listening wit a proper earphone or headset to appreciate the full extent of all the various musical pieces involved. For instance, I noticed that Nadhir Dinha sounded much better when listened with earphones.
Now, this is not an invitation to IR fans to start making comments about how IR songs are great without even earphones (u guys r becoming predictable), but just a comment to other ARR fans who may have noticed the same thing or may be able to shed some light on it.

Was it just me but I can't remeber which song it was but I could see a distinct resemblance to YSR Vaththikuchi song?It was a kind of spanish guitar piece in one of the songs?
I wasn't impressed with Moondreluthu at all,But Alage sugama was nice and the rendition by SS was immaculate as usual.

I donno why time and again u throw some bull like this always ?!??! How old are u ?? whatever be ur age, u've got the brains of a 5 yr old...

Maybe its becos the IR fans r behaving with a 5 yr old mentality...U have to talk the language of a 5 yr old to a 5 yr old, don't u know that? Tit for tat, eye for an eye, bull for bull. Like evil begets evil, bull begets bull. If u think tat is bull, maybe u haven't read all the bull tat self-professed IR fans came up with.
:-) Maybe u can explain to me why >>maybe its the IR fans who determine themselves never to like a ARR song.<< is bull and why >>the reason ARR songs doesnt appeal in a long run (which of course u guys will find it hard to agree but its true)..is becos since you made ur mindset to like the songs after a while ..<< is not bull.
>>I donno why time and again u throw some bull like this always<<
Maybe u want to clarify when else u felt I threw in some bull, and explain clearly why u think it's bull.
>>How old are u ?? whatever be ur age, u've got the brains of a 5 yr old...<<
Well, :-) whatever your age is, to come up with such a statement, u don't sound too mature yourself.

WhyNot,this is a thread to voice your opinion about the songs, not about other peoples postings. There has been nothing offennsive or degrading here so people can be free to post. I did not think PP was anywhere as good as AP or KK and I expected a lot more form ARR especially since there is such fierce competition for the deepavali audio releases.ARR could have made his album a sure hit if he was more dedicated to the music and spent the necessary time on the songs and then the audience would be happy too.
