  I bought a cassette of TIME with high expectations. It has surely let me down. IR has followed the style of ARR in using different singers for each song. After listening to the cassette I began to wonder whether are these the best of 36 tunes that IR composed or GeethaKrishna has such taste in music that he cannot even choose the right tunes. IMHO it was a waste in taking IR all the way to Mauritius as IR would have definetly come with these tunes sitting in the studio.

  recently i bought ilayaraaja's "Time" cd It's to bad only a few songs are great
  
  Nenacha padi -Unnimenon ,Devan, Subha (tunes like kadalar dhinam nenachapadi)
  Niram Pirithu - Sujahta (Ilayaraaja using full orchestra for this song like jazz style)
  
  only the two song are i like very much
  
  I am waiting for the Naser's "Mugam" Ilayaraaja is scoring the music cinema photography by our P.c Sriram and i think ilayaraaja can do it like film Devathai.

  IR Time album really impressed me.What a fresh tunes from our maestro.I'm really congratulate our IR.I know IR is the only person who can do like this.He is really a genius.Nobody can beat him in music knowledge.He is on the top of the hill.

  IR fans,
  I have listened to TIME songs and I would NOT is bad as one commented. If he has done this songs before ARR's arrival, no one would have blamed him for this type of songs. He has been composing this songs even before his (ARR) arrival. It will
  surely pick up the box office.

  Udith does not sing in 'Time'. Some time ago 'bb' acknowledged that udith sings in Time.

  I hate this Bhavatharini.. just annoying to hear her voice in many of IR's if not great numbers....! NO Bhava in her voice... Her singing is just attrocious in the song "Thavikkiren.. Thavikkiren..." from "TIME".

  I have felt the same about 'alai meedhu' song from kaadhal kavithai. It is such a brilliant piece of work, IMO, and 'Bhava'milla tharini's did not quite have the punch to render such a song.

  I listened to the three songs from TIME available in the link provided (thanks for the link NN). It is a welcome effort from IR. I immediately sensed a buoyant spirit behind the compositions, something that I found lacking in many of IR's releases in the 90s.
  
  1) Thavikkiraen --Hariharan and Pavathaarini.
  This is a subdued duet well arranged and performed despite Pavatharini. Kind of reminiscent of the IR classic, "Isai medayil indha velayil" in its mood.
  
  2) Naan Thanga Roja--Swarnalatha, SPB. A swinging number with a delayed reggae-like beat. This tune is very fetching and irresistable. Probably the most fun Swarnalatha has had singing a song, and need I mention how good SPB is?
  
  3) Ninachapadi--Unni Menon, Devan, Subha. Another rollicking party song that is so full of youth. Unni Menon deserves an entire soundtrack to strut his stuff, I hope that opportunity isn't far away. Someone had mentioned that this sounds like "Nenachapadi" from Kadhal Desam, that's a baseless claim.
  
  I would like to listen to all the songs from this soundtrack. If you know where I can listen to the rest of the tracks please point me to it. I'm so happy to hear IR getting into his groove. The interludes and overall orchestration is very fresh. IR is entering a very enjoyable phase,first "Kaakkai Chiraginilae" and now this, hmm, I can't wait for what comes next. I hope IR keeps his spirit up.

  I also echo the same feelings , I liked couple of songs from TIME , Nan Thanga is very good. People say Sujatha song is also very good. I have to listen to that. Kudos to IR.

  Did anyone notice that on the link NN provided (Ramiy Records), there is a trick on the first song link?
  
  If you click on the 'Hariharan Bavatharini' portion of the first line you hear a different song (India India) than when you click on the song title (thavikiren)?
  
  Where is this 'India' song from?
  
  Anyway, Time sounds quite appealing.
  
  I should go get the CD.
  
  I think the next Raja number to look forward to will be 'Sethu'

  and one more thing the song Nenacchapadi is far diferent from song nenacapadi in Khadalar Dinam. I hope Kumar form who my county will understood.
