IR's new albums!

  Have you listened to Tirunelveli, Kanna Unai Thedukiren etc.,? Hope not. Listen to Kannan Unai Thedukiren. They are really good. Even before that, if you think they are not good, then they are not good. Its all perception/bias. I had to listen to Kandukonden, Alai Payudhe a min of 10 times to like few of the songs. We must try to listen to the song without any bias few times, and you will most certainly like few of them, if not all of them. To your point to some crapy songs, there are in all albums of of MDs. That is not the point. Give me any IR album and I will give you the good ones, if you can't find for yourself.

  doesn't "thavikkiren" from time sound like "yenniyello, malliyello" (telugu) from Siva .. (also IR) .. a rather slow version. same ragam???

  The second interlude in the songs "thavikiren" and "naan thanga roja" from the movie Time both feature little fugal arrangements for two voices. In the former it is for two accordions and in the later it is for two violins. It is interesting that mridangam is used more for a melodic rather than rythmic purpose in the second song. Unfortunately, both pieces are frustratingly short.

  they already have appeared once some years back Udhaya..... i remember ARR presenting a ring to IR and IR presented it back..... Gangai Amaran told in some other interview, the reason for IR giving the ring back is he did not have anything else to present to ARR :-)

  "Kanna Unnai Theduhiren" has quite ok songs; but, it is very difficult to feel nice about Bhavatharini's voice. I guess, it fits only very few songs. IMHO, he should stop overusing her.

  Nice to see your posting again. I have been
  amazed by some of the postings in this thread
  by IR fans when they feel ecstatic on hearing
  some songs. I have felt like that on hearing
  so many songs and the latest one is Iravu
  Pagalai Theda from Kannukkul Nilavu. Raja's
  musical creativity is at its resplendent best
  in that song. Ofcourse the Yathramozhi song
  that you wrote about, is enthralling.
  
  About Deva, look at the directors who work
  with him like KSR(who is the no:1 moron
  currently in tamil films). He has no musical
  sense and still is managing to direct movies
  with Rajini and Kamal. That is making the guy
  arrogant to the extent of deriding Raja. Anyway,
  dogs howling at sun will not affect the sun.
  KSR is often compared to SPM in this forum. Atleast SPM had better musical sense and can
  take the credit for catapulting Rajini to his current position. People like KSR are reaping benefits of that. I wonder why Kamal works
  with that moron. Because Kamal was reported
  to have been reluctant to work with
  SPM after 87 or so. And ten years later, he
  is found working with a moron like KSR.

  What Athi says is correct. 'Kaathalaagi.,' is the movie gonna be directed by Kasthuri Raja's son and YSR is the MD. I heard both this and 'Sethu'Bala's Nandha went to YSR on IR's request. Kadaik kuttikku sellamaa help paNRaar pola. :-)
  
  I feel this is a right decision. Why again CREATE music for same dance sequences., same Dull Love(??) situations ? Athellaam chinna pasanga paarththukkattum. IR Avar thiRamaikku velai kodukkiRa ('Bharathi' maathiri) projectsla nallaa concentrate paNNalaamee., :-)

  P.S I read in some review of KKKK. 'ARR should reconsider his decision on making a Bharathi Album. The Bharathi song which he has made in this movie has reduced the GAMBHEERAM from the great poet's lyrics.' :-)
