You are right, that has become a raasi of IR, now a days...! Just its surprising how this IR still pops up with the good songs though the guys in the industry have closed most of the doors to him.

Visiri,
Kochchu kochchu santhoshangaL is supposed to be a great hit in Kerala. A very reliable source
in India confirmed it today:-)
The songs are good. The bhajan song has a terrific
keyboard intro (the quick progression is quite impressive.) Tabla and synth make up the percussion in alternate fashion. Whenever the tabla comes up it is quite nice (fortunately the synth (?) stuff is quite muted). The Second interlude begins with a swara niraval which yields to a nice flute piece blending with a jathi. Good one.
Another classically oriented song is sung by chithra "shiva karu" has a good thillana feel
to it. First interlude is very different
from the general mood of the song.
The chithra-KJY duet "Oda malli" is quite hummable. Probably a big hit. KJY sounds tired in this song tho'.
There is another classical keerththanai. I do not
know if it is composed for the movie or an
existing one. Sounds good. Some new female singer?
Bhava's song and KJY's solo are just OK.
There is this title chorus song full of la lalla's
only:-) No words:-) quite cute.
Overall it is no Guru. But, I think it is eminently listenable.
Ofcourse TFM Page experts may have different opinions about this album:-)

Guys
As IR fans we all feel sad to see how our IR has been put down by the film industry, now its a thankless world full of scyophants. They see no commercial value with IR,so they go with Deva and SA,but we all know only IR still today gives songs with difference, most of the other MD copy tunes left right center from old hindi songs, Dr Alban,Peter Gabriel a favourite copy source for AR and back stree boys for Deva. but they survive our man is facing the problem. Unless he have a major hit with good marketing ,the less we see of IR,may be very soon,he will totally go away from tamil,i heard he scores music for other languages like kannada, but i dont know whether he is popular there, any comments

thanks gokul for the immediate review of 'KKS' by maestro. The one you mentioned as 'keertanai' is a Swatitirunal Padam 'Sumasaayaka..'. I don't know whether it is included in the movie but definitely IR has done some thing innovative in the rhythm. This padam or varnam (I am not sure) is normally sung for Mohiniyattom performance in kerala. It is a very famous piece.
regards
Mohankumar

Some news about Kattrukkena Veli .... apparently a big "balam" for the movie is IR's music. Hope the songs do well, unlike Sethu.

MohanKumar: Thanks for the info on sOmasaayuka..
in KKS. I think there is another traditional mELam
that is playing the loop along with miruthangam
and that is very nice. I can not tell for sure.
It does sound like there are two percussion
instruments. If so, then they blend very well.
