  Praveen, I have no hassles in you expressing your preferences. It is only when cannot accomodate other's and come up with stupidity masquerading as counter-arguments, you end up being targetted.
  w.r.t. my preferences/opinions, it is verily a shame that Chitra has been dragged down to a level that no music lover in his true senses would dream of doing. I have heard a couple of KK's renditions in the 'Spirit of Unity' concert and some of her non-filmi albums. She comes accross to me as a hard sincere singer but as also a performer who makes you wonder why there is something totally missing, despite all the hard work. I am heartended to note that she relieves your headache, she gives me one. But that's my opinion, I allowed you to state your's....so cheers.

  praven, praveen - where are you? Although this is a newtfmpage, I shall digress again since the topic of the thread is such. Try to get an album of Kavita called "soz-e-dil"...it has classical ghazals again sung under a very senior HFM composer BULO C RANI. The ghazals are based on some very very rare raagas and taals. "Muddatein ho gayeen hai chup rahte" and "woh jo hum mein tum mein qaraar tha" are two examples of Kavita's superlative vocal calisthenics. Coupled with wonderful Urdu diction and some spellbinding moments of breath control, emotion and tonal variations, these two ghazals are a treat. Kavita has sung only 3 ghazals in that album, but its worth the cost! Have a listen!

  I think Chithra is the best singer in the music industry at the moment. Her songs are sung beautifully and with feeling. Kavitha is a good singer also, but her voice isn't very sweet. Chithra all the way!!!

  if anybody has any doubts, listen to chitra's
  malayalam songs, and her tamil ones too.
  she hasnt got too many oppurtunities in hindi, but even then the songs in pardes, virasat, and her album piya basanti....simply superb...
  she is a class act...
  kavita krishnamurthy is good only within a range of songs.

  parveen likes kavita kri.'s songs. kavita kri. is a fan of KSC (parveen bhai's own admission). so parveen must like the superior version of Kavita kri. or that.. parveen is undecided.. it is a toss up between the mallu KSC and the tammy KK for parveen. poor parveen..

  by the way how many of you know that KK and KSC are related. KSC's brother's BIL is KK's BIL. KK stays in KSC's house when she is in Trivandrum. KK is also takinh lessons in south indian music (carnatic) from KSC.

  Your information appears to be totally wrong.KSC and KK are not related, may be they are friends.KSC is from a nair family and KK is a brahmin.(well, intercast relations are possible, but there is no relation here).Moreover KSC stays at Chennai and not at Thiruvananthapuram. KSC goes to TVM only on specific occasions.

  KK overtaken Chitra on my given days. How many times have Sujatha and Chitra have song on stage ? Does it mean that KK has bettered than Chitra. No it cannot be true. KK is a better songlet that Chitra
