Shankar is a Fool because he didn't take A.R.Rahman for ANNIYAN. Shankar-A.R.Rahman Combination is always a Hit.All people who read this Message go to this Pages, listen to the Songs there and then tell me if Shankar is a Fool or not.

  No one is perfect my friend. Bringing out the weak side of MDs is no crime. And if you think this is a foolish thread, just get out of here. The admins know what to do.

  The initial robot voice is the only bits I found similar. Rest of the song is totally different ( I have listened to Kraftwerk's Man Machine).
  In fact, the robot voice was used in many movies and TV series before, for 'mechanical man' kind of characters, e.g., the robot on 'Lost in Space' TV series. Don't start off with the 'similarity' thing here, you have to take it up in 'Copying in TFM History Thread'
  
  How is this for similarity contests? 'Quiet man' in reflections of passions (yanni) has a beat pattern very close that of 'pudhu vellai mazhai' .. Roja, main beat pattern.
  There is no point in trying to come up with useless similarities. Though I myself am guilty of trying to prove that ARR copied from so and so. But now I am convinced that he may use bits and pieces of music, but he definitely composes his own tunes, which is good enough for me. For more info, read the history of ARR and why he set up his recording studio and what is so special about that studio.
  
  During IRs time such concepts were not in vogue and in any case, his mentality is such that he wants to everything on his own (composing, conducting and orchestrizing). Such people don't like to use readymade products, its their psychology in general. Thats why I said that he is one those people who like to compose their own music.
  
  And, as a tail-piece, it might as well have been ARR who programmed that piece in Vikram.

  Anyway, if you read my posts, I never said that Roja was a crappy album.. all I said was that it did not overtake IR's previous album...Secondly you shouldn't say that comparing narumugaye with thangamagan is an insult to all those percussionists... I hope you just blindly wrote and realized it later...Narumugaye wasn't that great not to be compared to anything else...And do not underestimate Deva. It's true that he is a copy-cat but sometimes, he too came out with some interesting stuff like thangamagan...
  
  And about tecnho stuff... there is a lot I wanted to write... will do when I find time and patience... just for a starter.. think about it's nativity... and how bad it is to replace the whole archestra with a keyboard and a PC loaded with software... you can automate anything with a computer but not the 'art of composing music'... where do you think all these no-talented-no-brainer MDs such as praveen mani, dheena, srikanth-deva, d-iman etc etc.. came from? How do they manage to produce a song without any basic knowledge of ragas and swaras... When was the last time a pure and original tamil song composed by an MD?. Fanna is a bad sign..   Not just anyone. Only someone with good knowledge can automate without spoiling the song.
  
  And like most people, I prefer the art - music to the art of composing music. i.e. I dont bother how a song is composed as long as it is good.
