  Recent albums of IR have too much synthesized drums and other sounds. This is getting terribly annoying. Even Friends seems to have been spoilt by these electronic stuff. If ARR is using synths he is using the best in the field. I hope IR takes interest in these matters and return to his acoustical instruments with better recording (first change those microphones and interconnects, even if you are using DAT, IR sir !!)

  `Friends' has bettered all the existing collection records in Kerala as per newspaper ads. First film to run in 2 theatres -regular shows- for 75 days+ in Trivandrum. Likewise great run in many cities! Some news, I think, to cheer up IR admirers! (Sargam audios is having a decent run with the cassette sale too)
  
  Wondering as to whether some `make-quick-buck' guy will try to remake this in TF and spoil! Better Siddique-Lal themselves do the job or let Fazil try and make a big hit in TN!

  I don't know whether it is lack of publicity or whatever it is , there isn't been much talk about IR's latest work "KAKKAI CHIRAGINILAE" , don't miss this one ALL THE SONGS ARE VERY GOOD AND YOU WILL BE IN FOR A BIG TREAT IF YOU BUY THIS ONE , REALLY MUSICAL.If this alubumn didn't do well in terms of sales then there is no point on us asking IR to give magical scores as we don't encourage him when such an album comes once a while

  I agree very much with you. I liked "oranjaaram" inspite of its unfitting lyrics. the song "kolakkiLiye" is also very melodious and I am sure the other IR fans are also very comfortable with the scores.

  I also feel there are three very good pleasing numbers in "ChinnaDurai",
  
  "Kolusu konjum PAdham", "Maragadha kutti" and "pakkathula nee irundhum"
  
  It is sad that people don't like these kind of songs now a days. But personally as an IR fan I am very very satisfied with this one too.

  Please restrain from doing spell-checks and grammer-checks.. especially the way a good number of you guys pouncing on SPM, this is nowhere near the level of decorum we are expected to maintain in this forum. Let us try to concentrate more on healthy discussions than on mocking at someone's linguistic incompetency which is totally irrelevant to the objective of this forum.
  I know this is the nth time that someone has to remind our fellow DFers on this.. Sorry about having to do it yet again..

  I have a CD which has songs from two movies..
  En Iniya Pon Nilave, and Kaaval Paravaigal. The
  Cover has a joint photograph of IR and MSV and the
  description says that both movies were jointly
  done by IR and MSV. Can anyone confirm this?

  I'm really addicted to the song "Pul Veliyinil" from

  Vimal, Pon veyilil ( golden sunny outdoors) song, I am hearing it for the last 2 years without ever feeling tired of it. The other duet: Thaimaavin thanalil is also equally enchanting. with these 2 songs IR expanded his repertoire and Indian film songs to unforeseen horizons. Check the orchestration and the structure of the entire songs. To say that Yatzamozhi was somewhere in the region after 700 films will make any other composer shed tears and become a musician in Raja's orchestra. Vimal, finally I am glad to see someone else also express similar feelings about the Yatramozhi song.

  Neenda Naatkkalukku Piragu Meendum Ingu Santhikkiroam. How are you and how is the family? Last year, India vanthabothu santhikka mudiyaamal poanathu. Hopefully, we can meet next time( year 2000 ).
  
  "Enn Iniya Ponn Nilaavey" was a movie made by Balu Mahendra with both MSV & IR as the MDs. This was a few years ago. But, the movie never saw the day light - I don't know why. I have had the CD for a long and long time and have enjoyed the songs. The songs had the traces of both MSV and IR. They were definitely not upto the standards of "Mella Thirakkuthu Kathavu"(or something like that with Mohan, Radha and Amala), but, there are some good songs. There is a song by KJJ with good guitar interludes. The song "Puthu Kadalaiyinna Kadalai" song by LRE & SPB sounded more like MSV's and it was a fun song.
  
  The album also had a movie called "Kaaval Paravaigal" starring Radharavi( I think ) and I am not sure if MSV & IR were the MDs for it.
  
  Anyway, good to see you back in DF.

  Seems like Balu Mahendra could not really totally please IR this time with the movie not releasing.
  
  By the way, 'Friends' is really a fascinating album. Second hearing I began to see the flavor of the songs. 4 out of the 6 songs are fantastic. Recommend people buy the CD.

  The PON VEYILILE (not Pul Veliyile) song from YathraMozhi is one of my favorites from IR's recent albums. It takes me back to the Nenjathai Killadhe phase. Extremely melodious and soothing, with vintage IR interludes. I guess the lyrics are soothing too (No 'karadu muradu' words here)

  I heard that Nilave Mugham Kaattu has some nice melodies by IR. Are they available on the Net?

  Sometime back, there was a real audio file of an IR interview on a cable TV channel. He was very caustic in this interview. But he also elaborated on how tunes are set for lyrics in this interview. If somebody can remember the URL please post it or email it to me.
