  Raaja has composed seven songs for Oscar Movies "Manasellam" in one day. Hariharan has sung 4 songs in it. Raaja has told Oscar Ravichandran that this movie songs will be a hit like "Payanangal Mudivathillai"

  Its really funny to note that he is Financial trouble...well he might be having financial constraint, but I am sure he does not have any financial troubles...FYI he has donated 17.5 lacs for the Rayar Gopuram in Tiruvannamalai for its ongoing Kudamuzhukku.....
  
  I think he accepts the projects mainly due to the pressure from the concerned people of the film/project and nothing else....When Parthiban when to him for Ivan he jocularly said him 'Ennaya periya Music Director lam Kaila vachukittu enkitta vara(Parthi Signed ARR for Yelalo then) and PArthiban said him illa Sir ithukku neengha panna than nalla irukkum.....it goes thus...

  Nolah...!!!IR won't say like that.He know the script of Parthiban movie is very nice.So he really like to do this project.Thats only lah.Parthiban like very much IR music.He once have said that Isai kettka ponna nane Isaiya therumbi vanthuruken.So who is the hero for the new movie?Very nice title.Pen Meghalai.

  The review of Devan's music in cinesouth.com seems a bit harsh. I guess reviewers in Tamil nowadays don't consider BGM in movie scenes to be helpful to the movie. Or the reviewer is ignorant of the finesse of BGM music or its importance.

  Neels, lovely review :-).
  
  A few more points to add to your thoughts,
  
  a) Dhoolu Podu Dhoolu - i don't think this is ordinary 'parotta kadai' song. The song seemingly starts with Natabhairavi, shifts in charanams to keeravani and then turns to simmendramadhyamam, back to Natabhairavi. Cool smooth shifts like the gear shifting in your SANTRO CAR :-)
  
  b) Mel top'la - Nice shankarabharanam number IMHO. Lovely use of Prathimadhyamam (Ma2) in charanams.:-)
  
  c)appdi paakradhunna venam - Raja is back with tonic shift games IMHO. Depends on where u start. It is kalyani shifted by a few notches. Shankarabharanam/kedaram usage pola theriyum, but is kalyani with vasantha/hamsanandhi interludes.
