  Guys , This may not be news , but anyway i thought i'll share it with fellow IR fans..
  
  A couple of days back i happened to listen to Guru songs with 3D speaker effect ( on my Sony VAIO ). The effect was amazing .. The recording perfect and for the first time i experienced a lot of subtle things in the orchestration of the songs ( especially "thathaaraam " and " Aruna girana ".

  agree with u that recording in GURU is exceptional. I am planning to invest $$$$'s to get a pakka system to listen GURU in that. I was impressed after listening that in Mukund's system with Bose speakers. Way to go Mux.

  this week vikatan says that Parthiban is going to book IR as the MD for his next tamil movie 'Housefull' ., the film is supposed to be an art movie & we can expect IR to play with his powerful instruments in BGM as always.

  I heard MVU yesterday. It was really mind-boggling. Raja is back in peak form. Yahoo!
  BUt, these days he seems to have cut down a bit on the flute and the violin pieces in the interludes.

  I have been listening to kilakuum merkuum recently( I know this came along with annan and others, but I could get it only now), and it is really started growing on me. I have to admit that I really enjoy the songs, though the lyrics like vasu pilla, katta pila and others stuff irriated me initially. If lyrics were better, this album would have been wow, but overall this is a very enjoyable album than other IR recent ones, I listened.

  Sorry MPR, it makes me feel so bad when I hear comments and words like trash, crap. Of course everyone has his own right to express his views and comments. But the way in which it is put that counts. If you don't like it, say it "I did'nt like it", rather that saying things like "3rd rated", "crap" blah blah.... respect a creator man. Let's know our own worth before we post. I'm not asking everyone to Idol Worship (I don't); but give a creator the respect.
  
  Anyway, any news about the album kadhal kavithai. I'm more keen on hearing "Sethu". Anyone knows when this album is gonna be released.

  MPR,
  
  I agree with you on not giving up on reviewing new IR albums. I also agree with Swami that we should'nt use words that might hurt others feelings.
  
  But i guess i disagree that IR's songs quality has gone down compared to his 80's compositions. the quantity of popular IR hits has come down compared to the 80's but not the quality..and this could be due to a number of reasons like change in people's taste , change in TF / TFM trends , more MDS' comapred to 80's etc., the way the songs are visualised etc etc..( discussed a lot in other threads )
  
  I guess it's natural for any MD not being able to maintain the same tempo for over 20 years.. after all he is human too and has limiations.
  
  But some of IR's recent compositions are still mind blowing.. for instance i was listening to the MVU feet tapper song ( Manasa Killi ..) and i find it very surprising to see the variety in that song.. this man has churned a dappanguthu song in almost every one of his albums , but still comes out with a fresh variance and i guess that's amazing .. and this looks so great compared to other MD's who are very good and talented but still lack the versatility that IR seems to posess , that too after being in the business for over 20 years and nearing his 800th album.
  
  ( someone pointed here that the song " vanathil iruntu" from poonthottam and "Vennilavukku vanatha " in Thalaattu paadavaa ( a parthiban movie i guess ) sound similar .. the next day i played both the songs -- though the tune (raaga.??) seems to be the same , he has done a great job in the interludes to match the situations.. In poonthottam it's a man singing abt his being an orphan and the instruments he has played bring out the pathos emotion , and in the other case, the song is abt a guy singing abt his lover .( what a difference.he has done in the interludes to suit the situations . Especiually in the vennilavaku song , at the end when SJ steps in it's really terrific.. listen to this song again if you get a chance..)

  I am a silent observer this site and I must admit that the site is very very informative overall! I am also IR`s fan(I am from Theni area!!!). Creativity means IR!
